About The Roastery
The Roastery is a coffee shop in Gloucester, at Unit 3, that sells art and products from local businesses alongside its coffee counter. Breakfast and brunch make up the food side, with avocado on toast that takes extra halloumi as an add-on, loaded hash browns with avocado and fried eggs, and a crumpet topped with melted cheese, chorizo, spring onion and a fried egg. Coffee and pastries run alongside, and the tea list includes breakfast and decaf. Cakes and an almond croissant are also on offer. The space extends around a corner, and a short wait for a table can happen at busy times such as Sunday morning. A selection of alcoholic drinks is served for evening functions.

Customer Review Summary
Breakfast is the main draw, and coffee leads it, with reviewers calling it excellent and naming flat whites and Americanos. Avocado on toast comes up repeatedly, once with extra halloumi and once beside loaded hash browns with fried eggs. Close behind are a breakfast sandwich with a perfectly cooked egg, crumpets with melted cheese, chorizo, spring onion and a runny fried egg, and an almond croissant. Cakes and a sausage roll with side salads also earn praise, and the staff are described as friendly. Not everything lands. One reviewer found both a breakfast tea and a decaf tea weak and tasteless, another found the cappuccino a little bitter, and one wished the breakfast sandwich had a crispy hash brown for crunch. The cafe draws queues on a Sunday morning and was rammed for one visitor, yet several describe quick service, and one says the food came piping hot.

“Although it was so busy when we got there the service was great and quick. Staff was super friendly and the food and drinks were great! Perfect for a breakfast”

“Had coffee here before but today we had a breakfast tea and a decaf tea. Both were horrible. Weak and tasteless. The decaf one was the Lichfield brand. No label on the breakfast one. They charge £3.20 each for them. Wouldn't bother with that again. Cafes need to stock a decent tea. Definitely Yorkshire Decaf is best for decaf”

“Coffee and pastries for breakfast! Lovely venue, good service and atmosphere. Coffee is nice but a little bitter for me. Perhaps next time I will have a latte instead of a cappuccino. Almond croissant is lovely”
