About The Bon Accord
On North St in Glasgow, The Bon Accord is a pub open daily, built around a rotating selection of 800 ales and a gantry of more than 350 malt whiskies. The real ale handpumps pour mostly Scottish local beers, and the staff guide visitors through the whisky choices, which gives newcomers a way into such a long list. The kitchen serves haggis with pepper gravy and a steak pie without a pastry casing, with sticky toffee pudding on the dessert menu. Big leather chairs fill the interior. Dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the whisky, with remarkable choice across ages, styles and prices and bar staff described as knowledgeable and patient in explaining flavours, which one newcomer to whisky appreciated. One diner settled on a sherry cask GlenDronach for its honey and chocolate notes. Cask ales come close behind, with Scottish local beers on the handpumps called lovely and in great condition, and a regular of many years calls the beers always interesting. Food earns praise too: a steak pie served without pastry that one reviewer preferred that way, and haggis with a rich pepper gravy. The same reviewer felt the pudding in the sticky toffee dessert could be better. Friendly staff, big leather chairs and a busy, bustling atmosphere recur, though the crowds have a cost. One reviewer found most Friday night tables reserved and suggests planning ahead for a group, and another saw people waiting for their table as they left. When the sticky toffee pudding sold out late one Sunday, the bartender recommended a skillet brownie with ice cream instead.

“Recently reopened after a brief closure The Bon Accord has been serving Glasgow for over 55 years, and although perhaps not Scotland’s most storied Pub the space still draws legions of fans thanks to over 800 varieties of Beer and 300 bottles of Whisky. Sold several times in its history, new owners Ken Stott and Euan McMillan currently retooling a menu of Pub Fare, The Bon Accord lacks televisions in favor of classic ambiance and conversation including staff and patrons full of suggestions. Sold out of Sticky Toffee Pudding late on Sunday, the bartender recommending a skillet Brownie with Ice Cream instead, making a decision amongst so many styles of Scotch comes down to personal preference with the Honey and Chocolate notes of Sherry cask aged GlenDronach Revival winning out in this case.”

“Its my first time to try Haggis and theirs made me enjoy this dish. The best part is their pepper gravy which is just very rich and added a depth of flavor to all the components of the dish. The pudding could be better. Toffee is spot on but the pudding can be improved.”

“We went here as it was recommended as a good place for whisky. The lovely people behind the bar were very knowledgeable about the various whiskies, and patient in explaining the flavours of each. 100% recommend to anyone wanting to experience whisky in a pleasant and friendly environment. As a newbie to whisky, I very much appreciated this experience.”
