About The Griffin
The Griffin is a pub on Bath St in Glasgow, dating to 1903 when it was known as the King's Arms. It now has its own Gin Palace, and private function spaces are available for groups. The food menu includes a pre-theatre offering, with chicken goujons with salt n chilli and haddock fish n' chips among the dishes, plus croquettes from the Beer Snack section. At the bar, Isle of Skye beers sit alongside local, imported and craft beers, with four poured from the cask and the rest on tap. Customers order and pay at the bar, as there is no wait staff. Tables can be pre-booked for the busy period before shows at the nearby theatres.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often point to the famous chicken goujons with salt and chilli, praised for their crunch, juicy chicken and seasoning. Close behind is the mac and cheese, called very cheesy and delicious by several diners. Others name the haddock fish and chips, a pub Angus burger, a chicken pie, a pork special and croquettes from the beer snack section. Portions are described as large and hearty, with some taking leftovers home, and prices as fair. The Isle of Skye beers draw repeated mention, with four poured from the cask and a wide craft selection. Many visit before a show at the King's Theatre and describe the bar as packed and crowded, with ordering and paying at the bar. One reviewer found the crowd a squeeze as ticket holders pushed around looking for tables. Servers are called friendly and attentive, and one group of about thirty visitors found a pre-booked table ready despite the rush. One diner brought home leftover croquettes to eat after the gig.

“Cool old pub with its british-scottish climate. Beer prices oscilating around 5-6 punds but they have Isle of Skye beers and they were veeery good. I saw a mouse running along the wall to toilet or kitchen but I assume this is normal in UK 😂 and got this "rat running movie-style" feeling, haha”

“Come here if you want to try beers from the Isle of Skye and you will not be dissapointed. Four of the beers are poured from the cask and the rest are available on tap with the other local and imported beers including plenty of craft beers choices.”

“The first pub we visited in Glasgow and it was really good. Had the chicken pie and the mac and cheese, both really tasty. Friendly services, good prices, nice vibes.”

“May 29, 2026 - Accomplished today! Enjoying a wonderful Scottish beer in a classic old pub . . . The Griffin in Glasgow! 😃 🍺 👍 Life is great! This pub has Scottish History! I looked up the date going back to the 1865. . . after 7 owners, William Griffin takes over in 1964! I love the bar’s “ U” shaped design with beer taps staggered , counters and walls beautifully finished with dark wood. Packed night tonight, my wife and friends able to scoot in early, before the folks with evening play tickets ! No wait staff, you order & pay at the bar! We enjoyed our Scottish beers, and noticed the “well dressed ticket holders” as they elbowed their way around the bar looking for tables. Glad we “ beat the crowd” , then our salads & haggis appetizers appeared! The online summary scared me . . . I enjoyed the Haggis, Turnips, Potatoes! Neat we shared a delightful garden salad around the table! My wife and I each loved our Haddock Fish n’ Chips! Our friends enjoyed Pub Angus burger, and the Macaroni n’ Cheese! Good night , fun atmosphere, and good service! Another 555 pubs to check out, in Glasgow! 😃 🍺 Thanks 🙏 to the staff, Chef, and servers !!”

“I brought in three separate groups from Canada of approx. 10 people in each group. We visited in May 2026 for food and some drinks around 6pm. Although very busy the staff were excellent in making sure our pre-booked table was available. The food was fantastic and staff extremely attentive despite the bar being crowded due to theatre shows across the road. This was some of the visitors first experience of Scotland and it was all very impressive. I would highly recommend The Griffin for food, great service and a wee bit of Glesga banter :-)”

A stone throws away from Glasgow’s iconic Kings Theatre, we’re famous for our incredible pre-theatre menu and very own Gin Palace, with private function spaces fit for the stars. We hope you have a royally awesome time with us!”
