Customer Review Summary

Reviewers most often praise the riverside setting between the bridges, with outdoor seating and a food court where orders placed by QR code are brought to the table. Food draws the most specific praise: Dabbawal's Indian street food, a Meatstack burger, Greek dishes, and the attached restaurant Träkol, which one diner calls one of the most unique dining experiences in the area. Beer gets mixed comments. Some call the beers fab, while others find the tap selection small with nothing local, the outside bar serving in plastic cups, and pints pricier than nearby pubs. One reviewer finds the ordering app confusing. The sharpest complaints concern ticketed football screenings, raised in several reviews. Reviewers describe screens obscured by ceiling equipment, unobstructed tables marked reserved, staff giving conflicting directions, and a free drink limited to a bottled lager rather than any draught pint. One reports long waits at the bar and for food, plus out of order toilets, and another ended up sitting outside in the rain to see a screen.

“Paid £15 for a view restricted by ceiling equipment. All the good tables reserved for people who knew the management apparently. Staff not told correct things so sending you pillar to post to figure out where your ticket is for. Free drink promised wasn’t for any draught pint, had to have becks. Ended up having to sit outside in the £3 per ticket area in the rain to be able to see a screen. Won’t be back!”

“Strong recommend against booking this for world cup games. Staff are clueless and will either intentionally or unintentionally stop you from sitting in the area you paid extra for, or the free drink you paid extra for. Screens are incredibly obscured and all the tables with unobscured views are ‘reserved’. It should be made obvious that you will not actually be able to watch the game if you’re paying £15/pp for a ticket”

“Went here for England v Norway, queues to the bar were 45-60 mins. Food took over 60 mins. Toilets were out of order and long queues for disgusting toilets. Disabled toilet was a biohazard a disabled person would not be able to use. Cost £15 to enter which was clearly oversold and understaffed. Horrendous experience.”

“Are you serious? Paying tickets to watch the quarterfinals when the manager knows over half the people will not be able to watch the screen. We arrived at 19,15 and half of the tables without restricted view are reserved. Well done, complain in a few months your business is not working.”

“A great find on the south side. Beers on the Tyne, with unique and original street food. Cool vibe, and happy friendly service. Next time im in the toon, I'll be back 😁🍻🍺”
