Quick info
About The Dubliner
The Dubliner is an Irish pub at 12 Close on the quayside in Newcastle Upon Tyne, near the Glasshouse. A guitarist or other live musician performs every day, which gives both a daytime drink and a night out a soundtrack. The pub carries a Temple Bar theme, and the draught choice is short, with just two beers on tap, Guinness and Madri lager. The bar is small and fills up, and seats go to those who arrive early. Security staff stand on the door.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers return for the Guinness above all, calling it a beautiful pint and the best they have had this side of the Irish Sea. Live music comes close behind, with a guitarist and entertainer who had the full place singing along on a Sunday night, and several visitors saying the music runs through the weekend. The atmosphere and friendly, hard working staff come up repeatedly, and one reviewer says the pub stays clutter free with short queues at the bar. Reviewers also describe it as small and cosy, and one notes it gets full enough that anyone wanting a seat needs to arrive earlier.

“Fantastic bar with great staff and an electric atmosphere for a Saturday non match day afternoon. They only sell 2 draft beers Madri and a drop of the auld black stuff from the banks of the Liffey. Worth a visit, the guitarist/entertainer was good and worth a mention.”
