  “We have visited The Fox & Hounds a few times now and always enjoy the food. The menu has a great selection, and it is a lovely spot in the summer, especially when you can sit outside near the canal. It’s a very pleasant place to spend an afternoon. Just a note that booking is advisable for weekends as it can get popular.”

  “We were in the area after a show and need some food and refreshments after looking about, had a Google this place looks good . We made are way got there so well coming and nice. We had fish and chips and burger special of the day it was very good and the deserts were amazing and reasonable prices.”

  “Wonderful family owned pub near to the canal. The food and service were superb, other pubs should take note on how to run an amazing establishment. The servers were swift and professional, and the owner super friendly. A lovely location near to the canal and one of the best coffee machines I’ve seen in a pub setting. Can’t wait to come back. Very reasonable prices as well.”

  “We walked along today from church crookham, haven't lived here long. And it's beautiful!! Lovely atmosphere, happy smiling staff, food was FANTASTIC, my fussy kiddos cleared their plates! The little play area kept them entertained whilst waiting (which wasn't long at all!!) Think this will become a regular spot for us!!”

  “Booking advised. Great food. Halloumi burger was stunning. The accompanying coleslaw was extremely good. Scampi was really crispy and tasty. The chips, wow! the chips. Thick cut and crispy skins with the fluffiest of potato fillings inside. Beautiful. The superbly crafted steak and ale pie was well filled and enjoyable. The chef really cares about the food. Such a shame that the service was slow and unattentive. Took forever to get a drink and then not to be asked for another, throughout the meal, was poor. Good prices for what we had. Could have spent more on drinks, had we have had the chance. Fantastic food, service needs improvement. *Back again for Sunday roast* Really good. Reassuringly expensive but well presented and well cooked. Once again, the young servers were more interested in chatting by the specials board, than offering an attentive service.”

  “Fabulous pub with direct access to the Basingstoke Canal. Good selection of ales on tap and a good variety of food on the menu, plus daily specials and a roast on a Sunday. Kids menu is thorough and well priced. As well as having access onto the canal, there is also a small children's play area.”
