Customer Review Summary
Diners most often praise the food, with halloumi fries and fish and chips called delicious, a well poured Guinness, and meals described as tasty, piping hot and generous in portion. Close behind are the servers, repeatedly called friendly, welcoming and helpful. One remembered a family's names and favourite drinks, and another patiently looked after a party of six with children. Reviewers also mention a warm atmosphere, a welcome for dogs, and a Music Bingo night that had the whole room singing along. The complaints are specific. One diner ordered the trio of meats roast, was told it would come with two meats, and received one, along with burnt Yorkshire puddings and small portions for the price. Slow food with no word from staff comes up in more than one review, and another diner found the dining room disgustingly hot in a heatwave with no air conditioning, though the food was still good. One reviewer who waited for their meal noted that the server was extremely apologetic.

It was well organised, making the whole evening run smoothly. The music selection was brilliant, with something for everyone, and it had the whole room singing along and laughing. “Such a fantastic pub and very dog-friendly too! We had a lovely meal here with the family and really enjoyed the food. Everything was delicious and full of flavour. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and it was great to be able to bring our doggies along. We’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend!”

“Don’t visit in a heatwave restaurant has no AC and it was disgustingly hot inside. We asked if it was broken and server said oh we don’t have AC. How can you build a new restaurant without AC. We eat as quickly as we could and left which was a shame as it ruined the whole thing. Food was good though but not a good experience at all.”

“Relaxing atmosphere and decor. Food was terrific. Halloumi fries for starters and fish & chips for mains. Both looked and tasted delicious. Guinness was well poured and smooth to taste. The staff were attentive. Will definitely visit again”

“Outstanding meal and how much I wished lived local. The menu offers a diverse selection of drinks and entrees. Ameila our server was exceptional with warm service for our party of six including children, patiently taking care of all our needs. The food came out piping hot. Strongly recommended! And ask for Ameila!”

“Everyone loves an English legend. Come to The Sarsen Stones and you’ll find a modern pub and restaurant with a historic twist. Our story is tied up with the myths and mysteries of prehistoric Stonehenge. Our pub is in Tower Hill. And there’s plenty of evidence that many years ago, a collection of sarsen stones stood where we now sit. These are the same type of stones that stand at Stonehenge, Avebury and other famously mystical places in Southern England. It’s not just the Stonehenge connection that makes The Sarsen Stones stand out from the herd. Our Red Tractor Farm-Assured rotisserie chicken is renowned for its taste and tenderness. Our grills are big and juicy. We do pub classics that make you smile. And a smattering of new serves fo...”
