Customer Review Summary

The complaints carry real weight. Several describe slow or disorganised service and food that fell short for the price. One group waited 45 minutes with a quiet room, then received a cold jacket potato, and the barman apologised, blaming short staffing. Another reviewer was served another table's meat combination. A regular reports overcooked salmon and a salty, mushy liver and bacon, and a vegan bean chilli was called bland. The jacket potato was removed from the bill.

“A proper pub lunch! Excellent proportions of pie, mash and veggies etc. Parked here, walked to Waverley Abbey and back, then had a lovely pub lunch and a few beers. The village within the roundabout is charming too. Legally allowed to drive on the wrong side of the road to get back onto the aroundabout - which was a bit weird.”

“My partner and I came here for lunch spontaneously. This isn't our usual neck of the woods 🤣 We came in around lunchtime on a weekday so it was pretty quiet (naturally). Nonetheless, staff were lovely. Food was actually really nice. I had the BBQ chicken and melted cheese ciabatta and it was incredible. Definitely recommend. All in all, for a spontaneous lunch date we had a great time. If we were more local, would definitely come here again. Also loved the sheep-themed decorations everywhere! 🐑”

“Overpriced and underwhelming. One of our group got the £19 bean chilli off the vegan menu. This came with sour cream and butter (?) she couldn’t eat and no guac as on the menu. Still you’d expect a quality chilli. But it was very reminiscent of the chilli from Wetherspoons which you can get for a quarter of the price. Another had the seemingly shop brought and very bland bean burger, which did come in a posh bun with a tiny portion of fries for £18. Then the moving mountains burger for an extra quid which you can get significantly cheaper elsewhere so unsure on the mark up when it comes with absolutely nothing special. A similar story for the rest of the orders. Incredibly expensive for not a lot of food, and bland at best. Wouldn’t bother again which is a shame as it’s a decent pub in a unique location.”

“Had such a lovely Mother’s Day at Shepherd and Flock! The roast dinner was absolutely spot on — perfectly cooked meats, crispy roast potatoes, and all the trimmings you’d hope for. Everything tasted fresh and full of flavour, proper comfort food done right. What made it even more special was the thoughtful touch of both mums getting a free glass of Prosecco — such a nice way to celebrate the occasion and make them feel appreciated. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff were friendly and attentive without being over the top. Overall, a really enjoyable experience and a perfect way to spend Mother’s Day. Would definitely recommend and will be coming back again!”

“It is an amazing English country side pub at Farnham. We had Fish and Chips, and some drinks. It was a good meal. The service was also good.”
