Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often praise the food, with the Sunday roast beef described as pink, tender and full of flavour, alongside liver, moussaka and gammon called generous and good value. The Bakewell tart and a buffet for a wake also earn praise. Staff are friendly, and the large beer garden suits kids. The roast potatoes had tough skins, and one diner felt rushed by an unannounced table time.

“Went for Sunday lunch at The King's Arms and it was well worth a visit. Lovely traditional pub with a nice atmosphere. There's a small car park just off the main Havant Road, easy to find. I had the roast beef. It was excellent - pink in the middle, tender and full of flavour, served with fresh broccoli, cauliflower and carrots, with gravy and horseradish on the side. A good sized portion. The roast potatoes were a bit disappointing - skins were quite tough and not crispy. Finished with Bakewell tart with custard and jam which was delicious - light pastry and a good almond flavour. The menu is quite varied with plenty of choice beyond the roast, and prices are reasonable for what you get these days. Staff were welcoming and very helpful, attentive without being over the top. The pub was very busy for a Sunday but not overly noisy, you could still hold a conversation. The disappointment was at the end - I asked for a pot of tea for mum and was then told our table was booked again in 5 minutes. If they had said at the start that we had to vacate the table at a set time, we would have ordered lunch earlier and we wouldn't have felt rushed to leave. It was a shame as it was a rare chance for family to meet up. Overall good food and nice atmosphere, just let down by the lack of communication about table times. Would definitely go back and would recommend for a roast in Emsworth.”

“Was here for lunch today, service was very good, food was excellent. Very reasonably priced too with 2 courses for £19 off the Lunch menu. Highly recommended”

“We have just left after stopping by mainly to check it out. Sat in a pod/ cabana thing in the large garden Really good food - good value starters - prawn on toast/ brocoli tempura and spring rolls followed by liver (excellent) moussaka and gammon All very generous and good value. Highly recommended for food”

“We booked a wake here recently and the food and service were excellent. The buffet had a lovely selection and Gavin and his staff were friendly, and efficient. Communication with Gavin was straightforward, and left us with no worries. Many of the guests commented how nice the food was and I would certainly recommend this place. Thanks again.”

“Underrated lovely pub with great food portions, deliciously cooked and well plated. Big beer garden with plenty of seating and space for kids to run around. Friendly and helpful staff.”
