Customer Review Summary
The carvery is what reviewers return for most, with generous meat portions, plentiful fresh vegetables and a roast one describes as comforting, like a nan's. Close behind are the desserts, repeatedly called huge, with a chocolate fudge cake singled out and cakes some say have to be seen to be believed. Reviewers also mention the indoor play area, where one family's three-year-old happily spends a couple of hours, and large drinks, including a 1.15 litre Coca-Cola. Several praise the value and friendly staff, and one notes the chicken combo with peri peri sauce arrived hot and quick. Complaints are fewer but specific. One reviewer says service has always been slow and the menu food average, so they stick to coffee and cake. Another reports a delivered roast that arrived cold and overcooked, with no turkey, no Yorkshire puddings despite an extra charge, and gravy spilled over the dessert. Others say vegetables and Yorkshire puddings can run out on busy days, and one suggests booking close to midday on Sundays. One reviewer's visit ended with staff putting an earlier bad experience right.

“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I have to say, after my experience the other day, this restaurant has 100% redeemed themselves! ❤️ Today the team went absolutely above and beyond, and honestly, they made me and my children feel so special. The difference in the experience was incredible, and I genuinely couldn’t be more grateful for how lovely, understanding and helpful everyone was. The food was absolutely amazing, but what really stood out was the people. Sometimes it’s the kindness and effort from staff that makes all the difference, and this team really showed that today. 🥰 A HUGE shout-out to Emily and Jo — honestly, what fantastic, lovely people! You both went above and beyond and made our visit so much more enjoyable. Please know that your kindness didn’t go unnoticed. ❤️ Thank you for listening, putting things right and showing us just how amazing you can be. You absolutely smashed it this time! 👏🏼❤️ We’ll definitely be back! 🥰🍽️”

“Great cake - huge portions, and good carvery. I never order anything else from the menu as service has always been slow and food average. But coffee and cake is a meal and a great treat.”

“Went for Sunday lunch with my girlfriend. Our meals were okay. The pudding...omg the pudding chocolate fudge cake, was huge!!!! Great value for money. We didn't pre book a table, however we also sat outside which was surprisingly empty given the great weather. Very busy inside, but the food didn't take too long to arrive.”

“This is a good value for money venue. The carvery is very reasonably priced and each time I have visited, the vegetable selection has been fresh and plentiful. Also, the meat portion is generous. Overall, a tasty roast dinner. The desserts are a sight to behold and probably a challenge to eat a portion after a main meal. There is currently an offer advertised which applies after 3pm on a Friday, allowing 2 children to eat free when 1 adult main meal is purchased.”
