Quick info
About The Anchor Bleu
The Anchor Bleu is a waterside pub on High St in Chichester, where the balcony, the upstairs tables and the garden all look over the harbour. The menu is on a blackboard rather than a QR code. Fish and seafood dishes include a crab tart and a monkfish salad, and a home made pie of the day is also served, with chips alongside the dishes. A vegetarian or vegan option is usually on the menu. At the bar, real ales are on draught next to a list of wines. The pub operates on a walk-in basis. A local pay car park is nearby.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the view over the water at the harbour, whether from the garden, the balcony or a table upstairs, and one diner who asked for an estuary view was found exactly that. Close behind is the food. The crab tart and monkfish salad, a homemade pie of the day with crispy chunky chips, and a sea kelp, samphire and seaweed seacake are all described as delicious, and the blackboard menu carries a good selection of fish. Real ales and draught beers draw repeated praise, and several describe friendly, welcoming staff and a really good vibe. Reviewers also call the portions generous and the value great, and one notes a vegan or veg option is usually on the menu. One reviewer recommends booking because the pub gets very busy. A diner with food intolerances describes staff who couldn't do enough, producing a goats cheese tart with peppers and pesto, a plain salad at their request and a 0% alcohol Guinness to go with it.

“Very busy but lovely pub on the harbour at Bosham. Recommended to book. On a sunny day, eating and drinking here is a joy either overlooking the harbour or in the garden. Very popular with locals and tourists. Menus are on the blackboard and naturally by the sea there's a good selection of fish dishes. Both food and selection of real ale is very good and the service excellent 👌”

The food is outstanding: fresh, well-cooked full of flavour, with a great mix of classic and modern dishes. Portions are generous and prices excellent value. Perfect for lunch, dinner or just a drink by the sea. We’ll definitely be returning soon – highly recommend!”

“Great spot for drinks and food. Good selection of draught beers and wines. Usually have a vegan/veg option on the menu so wouldn’t worry about this - can phone ahead to ask. Bosh!”
