About Tani Modi Brunch House
Tani Modi Brunch House is a brunch restaurant at 103 Hanover St in Edinburgh, serving pancakes, sandwiches and salads. The pistachio pancakes pair pistachio sauce with strawberry sauce, then add fresh strawberries and coconut flakes, which gives the sweet side of the menu a clear centrepiece. Savoury plates include avocado on toast with eggs and a Hero panini served with Parmesan fries. Coffee and tea sit on the drinks list alongside the food, so a brunch order can come with a hot or iced drink. Vegan and gluten free options are available for guests who need them.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers return above all for the pistachio and strawberry pancakes, a double stack with pistachio sauce over strawberry sauce, fresh strawberries and coconut flakes, described as fluffy and "to die for." Close behind are the blueberry pancakes, praised as not too sweet, and the Kyoto Matcha Pancakes. Savory plates also draw mentions: the Hero panini with parmesan fries, avocado toast with eggs, the Eggs Benedict, scrambled eggs, and the Scotsman breakfast. Coffee gets credit too, including a strong iced americano and a chai latte, and several describe friendly, accommodating staff. The main complaints concern the room. Reviewers say it gets crowded, with tables close together, and one found it quite hot inside on a busy Saturday, when service was a little slow. Another says the place smelled strongly of food and that the odor stuck to their clothes. One reviewer notes the interior is not aimed at those wanting an "insta worthy" look. One diner closes on the chef sending out a free appetizer.

“Had an amazing brunch with my daughter today. This was the best Eggs Benedict I’ve ever had. Daughter had the Kyoto Matcha Pancakes and they were delicious as well. The entire menu looks wonderful.”

“Absolutely wonderful brunch we had with my mom!! 🥰 The Blueberry pancakes are to die for: not too sweet, creamy, fluffy, with a mix of vanilla and lemon flavour that goes super well with the blueberries!🥞🫐🍋 In short: the perfect pancake dream😋 The iced americano has a good and strong coffee flavour (one of the best I had in Edinburgh) ☕️ My mom had the protein breakfast with a jasmine tea, and she said that as well as being delicious and nutritious, it's also very fulling.😋 The sourdough was also crispy and lightly toasted, so yummy 🍞✨️ We totally recommend this place to have a nice brunch in a cosy place 🥰✨️”

“Great little unassuming spot! The food is unreal, had the blueberry pancakes and they were incredible. For those looking for perfect “insta worthy” interiors/vibes, this might not be for you. If you are just looking for good food? Definitely recommend. Service was a little slow at times and it was quite hot inside. But there was a heatwave and it was a very busy Saturday.”

“The food and coffee were fabulous. Pancakes superbly fluffy, fruit was very fresh, maple was really good too. The Scotsman and "light" breakfasts were cooked to prefection with great ingredients. Such a lucky find! Family of five (although mostly couples) the service was really accommodating and friendly too. Thank you a great start to our day.”
