About Superico 99 Hanover Street
Part restaurant and part cocktail lounge, Superico 99 Hanover Street sits on Hanover Street in Edinburgh, with bare stone, drapes and dark wood through the room. Cocktails lead the offer, covering classics alongside the bar's own signature drinks, while the kitchen sends out main courses such as salmon. Evenings bring a DJ playing techno and house sets, with lights and large projectors that also carry movie nights, and the sound system runs louder later at night. Bar staff serve at the table and come round to check on customers. Reservations are recommended. A private dining room gives groups their own space, and high chairs are available for families with young children. The step-free entrance suits visitors with mobility needs. The doors open Monday to Saturday, with Sundays closed.

Customer Review Summary
Cocktails are the clear draw, with drinkers repeatedly calling them lovely and packed with flavour, and one regular visitor rating it the best cocktail bar they have been to. The bar staff come close behind: several describe them as friendly and knowledgeable about their craft, wandering out from behind the bar to chat, and one party credits their server with making the whole visit. The room draws its own comments, from the massive entrance light fixture that looks like paper but is reportedly wood, to the DJ playing techno and house with lights and projectors, which a few liken to something between a bar and a lounge club. Not everything lands. One reviewer found the signature cocktails weaker than the classics and the music too loud, though they noted it was late; another mentions drinks being on the expensive side. The sharpest complaint comes from a diner who ordered two mains, a piece of salmon and one of celeriac, and felt the potato and small salad alongside did not justify the bill.

“We ordered two main courses and just had that to eat. One piece of salmon and one piece of celeri without any siding but a potato and 2 branches of salad.. And we paid £40!”

“Service was good. Classic cocktails were lovely but their signature cocktails were not that great. Music too loud for me but to be honest it was 11pm so it's what you can expect at that time. Nothing bad to say. It was just not my kind of soup.”

“We didn't eat here, just drinks. Which were lovely. Staff were great and quite attentive. The bar itself is beautiful they have a massive light fixture as you come in the door. Which really sets off the room. It looks like paper, but apparently, it is made of wood.”

“Always a pleasure to visit! The cocktails are lovely and packed with flavour. The vibe is great, and the DJ keeps the energy high.”
- Phil Cook
“Chilled out vibe serving truly excellent cocktails. Staff were super friendly and really knew their craft. Quite often they'd wander out and chat away to us. They offer a range of discounted drinks on a Sunday, which is great. The interior is relaxed and modern with an excellent sound system, but it'll be the staff that make you want to go back. Infact, we did right after dinner!”
