Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often return for the set lunch, praised for its value and the free extras of salami, olives, salad, and bread and butter that arrive before the starters. Steak frites is the dish named most, with one reviewer calling the sauce great, while another found the peppercorn sauce too peppery. Close behind are the mussels in a garlicky wine sauce, the French onion soup, described as rich though sweet to one diner, and the chocolate mousse. Several describe friendly, quick staff and a lively, bustling room, and a few say walk-ins are difficult, with some suggesting reservations. The criticism is real and specific. One reviewer found the steak tartare more like half cooked minced beef and the classic steak hard to chew, and also called the staff rude. Another said everything lacked salt, and that closely packed tables and loud music made conversation hard. Even so, diners repeatedly mention the complimentary amuse bouche or small starter that arrives shortly after sitting down.

“Delicious steak frites lunch. My wife and I hadn't reserved a table but the staff managed to accommodate us after a short weight. The complimentary amuse bush was a nice way to start the meal while enjoying the vibes of the bustling restaurant in full swing. The staff were all friendly and they seemed to have service running like clockwork. I'd highly recommend Chez Jules. The set lunch in particular is excellent value.”

“This is a premiere French Restaurant. Good service, great food( the salad appetizer was perfect!) and it was a pleasant atmosphere. The last time I was at a French restaurant of this quality was at Le Petite Chatelet in Paris. They are not slow and deliberate in the old French dining style; the food comes to you as fast as you order it. Highly recommended!!”

“The food had good flavor, but everything lacked salt. The service was very warm and friendly, and the atmosphere was lively. However, the tables are packed way too closely together, and between the loud music and the chatter, it was so noisy that we could barely hear each other talk.”

“Must get the steak friets. The sauce is amazing. Highly recommend going during lunch to get the lunch special, but I’m sure dinner would be wonderful as well. They give u salad, bread, olives, and salami as tapas starters so it’s a really great value for your money. The chocolate mousse was heavenly. Service was excellent and the staff were very attentive and kind! Will definitely come back here!”

“My friend and I went out for lunch and were looking for a place that was good, beautiful, and not too expensive, and we ended up finding the perfect spot. They offer a lunch menu every day from 12 pm to 4 pm, with the option of choosing 1, 2, or 3 courses. We decided to go for the 3 course menu, and it was definitely the right choice. Everything was delicious, and the portions were generous. The restaurant is inspired by the French Alps, creating a warm and charming atmosphere.I highly recommend it if you're looking to enjoy a great glass of wine paired with delicious food.”
