Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the steak bavette, with one still thinking about it weeks later and another calling it incredible. Close behind is the set lunch, which several describe as unbelievable value, with perfect chips, a well dressed salad and a well seasoned steak. John Dory, a Blood Orange and Rhubarb Panna cotta, the lamb and the fries also draw praise, along with a Cabernet Sauvignon, whiskey and dessert wine. Diners describe friendly, fun waiting staff and a cosy, community dining feel built around shared tables, though one notes the seats are a bit uncomfortable and the tables close together. The one sharply negative account concerns dinner, where a duck platter for two of breast, leg, and some sausage and beans was cooked well but lacked flavour and felt too small for the price, with an atmosphere that fell short of expectations. Most others call the menu fresh, changing and fairly priced, and one reviewer says they have gone for dinner several times without disappointment.

“The nicest restaurant in edinburgh without a doubt! Food was fresh produce and cooked to perfection. Sam and Chloe were unbelievably hospitable and kind waiters. We will be back!”

“Really disappointed. Extremely overpriced for amount and quality of food. £66 for a “duck platter for two”, compromised of a breast, leg and some sausage and beans. Cooked well but flavour was lacking and not enough for two people - especially not for the price. Atmosphere was lacking, again just not what you expect for the money you pay. Not sure if this is hyped up by its cheap lunch deal, but definitely not worthy of an expensive dinner.”

“Had a fabulous experience with the set lunch menu here, the service was very laid back and fun and paired well with the communal dining environment - the Blood Orange and Rhubarb Panna cotta was 10/10. Cabernet Sauvignon was divine also !!”
