  “Have been going there for three years, and it has been consistent and great! Wide selection of freshly roasted coffee beans. If you don’t own a grinder at home, the staff offers to grind it for you. All coffee drinks are brewed to PERFECTION! Each location (even the St James’ one) has seating available. My local one if Leith, and shout out to the staff for always been positive and making my day! Delicious matcha, pastries, and sandwiches! So sad I am moving out of Edinburgh, because will miss having exceptional coffee at every visit!”

  “We regularly come to the cafe after gym classes during the week, and particularly on a Saturday morning- bringing 10-15 paying customers to the cafe. While I appreciate that handling a large number of orders at once can be challenging, I do not feel that it excuses the level of rudeness that we have repeatedly received from the same female member of staff. She makes it completely clear, that our presence is a massive inconvenience and it’s very obvious she would rather be elsewhere. The other members of staff here are always friendly and welcoming, however they are let down by their colleagues blatant disregard for basic manners. I appreciate that everyone has a bad day, but as this has happened on multiple occasions now, I felt I had to leave a review to highlight the problem to management. I hope that this can be addressed before we take our business to one of the many other local cafes that would happily welcome us in on a weekly basis.”

  “Artisan Roast staff were very kind and helpful to us this afternoon, going way beyond to accommodate us and make us feel welcome and comfortable. Great coffee, great atmosphere, and great food, with fabulous cakes - best coffee house in Leith!”

  “Wanted to like this more. It has a nice chill vibe but overall place looks better than it is. It was hard to get a seat - food and coffee took quite a long time to arrive too. Coffee arrived after the food. There are better spots in Edinburgh.”

  “Pros: • Friendly service and despite a a que it wasn’t long Cons: • for me personally I like syrups and they don’t do it so the latte was too strong but luckily at home I have my own monin ones so I head home to have it • I sat in for a little while until I decided to drink it at home and although a fair amount of seating it is a bit “old” dated looking. Some tables were needing to be cleaned. Personally I wouldn’t go back but some may enjoy it if you don’t mind syrup free lattes etc I never had food so can’t comment on it.”

  “Amazing place with a warm, cosy atmosphere. Fabiano and Polya are always super friendly and welcoming. The coffee is excellent, the pastries are delicious. It’s one of the best spots in Leith!”

  “I saw the reviews and seemed quite but i regretted … I was quite disappointed with the hot chocolate, as it lacked a rich, fluffy texture and was poorly presented—honestly, I felt I could have made a better one at home. The espresso was overly strong and sour. The ambiance was uninviting, with the space feeling quite cold. Perhaps the heater should have been turned up a bit, especially since the constantly opening door let in cold air, noticeably lowering the temperature. Some clients even kept their jackets on, but no one seemed to address the issue. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning.”

  “Very nice and niche café. The barista was exceptionally good. Great coffee/tea options, nice pastrys and variety of food. Highly recommended to have a quick or long coffee, namely a good conversation with a friend.”

  “Had breakfast twice this weekend. Food is great, friendly staff and great relaxed vibes. It's vegetarian so you can get cheese of you want. Great espresso Good teas Really tasty granola toast with peanut was also good Pastries are nice, you can taste the butter 😋 We tried the pain au chocolat and the almond croissant. The croissant could do with more filling though.”
