About Food For U
Food For U is a Chinese takeaway at 189 Morningside Rd in Edinburgh, with a wok that is visible from the counter. That is where the salt and chilli chips are tossed with stir-fried pepper and onion. The menu also includes crispy king prawn with honey and a beef Hong Kong ho fan noodle dish. Free prawn crackers come with orders, and portions are large enough that leftovers can cover the next day. Orders can be placed online or in person, and collection orders are ready within a few minutes. The shop opens evenings only and is closed on Wednesdays.

“I had the ✨beef Hong Kong ho fan✨, and it is amazing. The beef really is tender, the noodles are springy, the vegetables are crispy, and the sauce is perfect. Highly recommend, it is a well balanced dish with a tiny tang of spice at the end that makes it extra comforting. The delivery was on point too !”

“Ordered from them a lot. Food is great, except the one time I got a bit of wire in my food. No way to email - the address on the site is a dead link. Any chance someone at the restaurant can help please?”

“Really phenomenal Chinese food. We waited a wee bit for it, but it arrived piping and delicious, and with free prawn crackers and veggie spring rolls. The portions were so generous, we had enough for lunch the next day. Loads better than all of the pricer delivery spots in town.”

“Food came cold and missing the ice cream. Chow mien had 3 bits of chicken and a few slimy bits of veg with a ton of noodles. Wouldn’t recommended .”

“Jeez, this place was great! Although the inside wasnt special it also definitely was not filled with rats. The service too, there was a very kind woman who even noted we were ordering her favourites! The waiting time was wonders, we got to take an atmospheric late night walk near the place and it only took 9-10 minutes to be ready! When we went home it was still warm and was so good it left me licking my plate and cutlery! Overall this great place deserves its good reviews.”
