About The Chanter
The Chanter is a pub on Bread St in Edinburgh, set in a student area and serving from breakfast through to late-night drinking. Quizzing and retro-gaming are part of the offer, so there is something to do besides drink. Screens show sports and live matches, including EPL games, and the kitchen turns out burgers, pizzas and a large portion of wings to eat alongside them. The menus draw on street food. At the bar, beers are on tap and cocktails are served, with a happy hour on offer. The boozy brunch includes a set number of drinks plus a meal, and booking is needed. Dogs are welcome inside.

Customer Review Summary
Boozy brunch draws the most mentions, with reviewers praising the good value, the varied drink list and cocktails they call good quality. The food gets equal credit: gourmet burgers and authentic pizzas at brunch, plus wings in a portion one diner calls the biggest they have ever seen. Close behind is watching sport, where reviewers describe loads of screens, a welcoming feel and funky beers on tap such as birra moretti sale di mare and cruzcampo orange. Staff are repeatedly called friendly and quick, and one manager is credited with helping a group find a good table. Complaints are few but specific. One party said a manager would not remove extra charges for soft drinks they had been told were included in the brunch, even after praising the server on his first brunch shift. Another found the commentary on an EPL match too loud, and one notes the place was packed and noisy, though conversation still worked. One reviewer adds that the brunch needs booking.

“Stayed in Edinburgh for five days, went here to the Chanter 3 times. Had great food and great drinks. A blast watching the games. And the male bartender is so cute. It’s got everything I needed.”

“Guy who was serving us was brilliant, great service and lovely guy. His first boozy brunch was immaculate however the blonde women manager wasn’t keen to remove extra charges for soft drinks that we got told was included in the brunch. Totally not his fault clearly a lack in managerial support if this is this is known to be his first brunch session. Top service from the guy tho.”
