  “Searching on Google for where to eat in Edinburgh outside of the typical touristy and quiet area with good reviews we found this place near the Museum. It is how you would find a typical bar in Scotland, all made of wood with an impressive bar with many types of beer and many beer taps behind the bar to drink different flavors. The waiter's attention was impeccable, very courteous and friendly. Although our language is Spanish, he very kindly treated us with cordiality. We ordered a chicken burger that, my God, is spectacular, large that is difficult to put in your mouth to be able to bite, my friend's was an original one that was Super, the beer I ordered, soft but intense, the onion rings, delicious and the garnish that accompanies the burger excellent. A great success. I promise to return on my next trip to Edinburgh”

  “Great pub. Lots and lots of beers.Food is good and well priced. Service is mostly very good, although recommend you go to bar for drinks rather than order at table, as the drinks are charged to you but...not necessarily brought out. We were asked if we wanted more beers whilst seated with our dogs so thought- yeah great. But beer never came and so we went to bar to order and pay for a round. When we were leaving, we were asked to settle our bill. We explained that we paid as we went and that we'd been asked but never received beers at the table. They were fine with it, but it's a bit embarrassing being dragged back in to pay ....for something we hadn't had. It didn't spoil the day though. Still a great pub. Just pay as you go....direct from the bar.”

  “Dropped in on a whim after hiking Arthurs Seat and so glad we did! Our server was upfront about gluten cross contamination possibilities, shared space/fryer, but also was very accommodating to cook the burger in a separate pan to mitigate. Really enjoyed the Forager Burger, the mushrooms and brie were great quality! The thistly cross cider was delicious and wish I could find an equivalent to it in the US!”

  “We ordered the Cajun chicken breast burger, but unfortunately it was disappointing. The chicken seemed overcooked and had a burnt smell. I immediately shared this with the waitress, as the batter was clearly very dark brown. She explained that it was due to the marinade/recipe, but the burnt smell was quite strong. I ended up cutting off the batter and putting it aside.I felt our feedback was dismissed rather than properly acknowledged, which made the experience even more disappointing.”

  “They have the sweetest and kindest staff here who are patient and knowledgable in helping you decide your choice of drink. The option of 1/3 pint is fantastic to try many local craft beers. Food is good, music builds an upbeat atmosphere where you can still hear your friends and have decent conversations without screaming. Spacious inside, easy to get seats. Love it here and I always come back. Probably my fave local pub in Edinburgh.”

  “One of the best burger I have ever tasted. Burger was big, tasty and included lot of different elements. Local dark beer was also very good. Staff was very kind and helpful. This place was worth of every money!”

  “Came in just looking for some food, and ended up having a fantastic time here. Enquired about Gluten Free options at the outset, and the manager, William, was very helpful and accommodating. There was a great menu, and the food was absolutely delicious, as well as good value for the portions. They have an amazing selection of cask beer, and even multiple Gluten Free options on tap! Couldn't fault it, and the staff were so lovely and welcoming. 10/10 will definitely be back next time we're in Edinburgh.”

  “Great burger overall. Big portion, very tasty and filling. The meat was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. The chips were amazing, super crispy and delicious. The cocktails were also really good, well made and perfect to go with the food. On top of that, the service was excellent, friendly and attentive. Definitely a place worth coming back to.”
