  “Lovely pub,in a scenic location, selection of real ales . dog friendly & nice beer garden, staff very friendly didn't have food as just didn't have the time but it smelt n looked good.. 🤔 so next visit will make the time... Would recommend if in the area”

  “Fantastic pub. Far far better than you could imagine in such a tucked away place. Shame I live so far away. Visited from a narrow boat trip. Highly recommended. They also have a brewery attached and the ales are sublime.”

  “After reading previous posts about dogs barking I was a bit dubious about going in here as my dog does bark occasionally. The pub is a short walk from the campsite we were staying at so decided to give it a go. I have to say they couldn’t have been more welcoming and friendly. There were a few dogs in the pub and my dog did bark and even jumped up at the waitress but she didn’t mind and gave her a fuss. Food was delicious and plenty of it, service was great. Would definitely visit here again next time we’re in the area. Highly recommended.”

  “That burger looks dead. Like genuinely no life in it. The meat’s crumbly and grey, not juicy, not seared properly… just looks like it’s been sat around thinking about its mistakes. Cheese barely melted, bun was dry — no sauce, no effort, no personality. Chips? Covered in grease. Not crispy golden, just heavy and oily. The kind that makes you feel worse halfway through eating them. And the onion rings…thick, doughy batter that’s somehow both soggy and undercooked. That’s a skill in itself. Whole plate just screams “we don’t care but you’ll pay anyway.” For £23? Nah. That’s disrespectful.”

  “Best Sunday roast we’ve had in a very long time! Everything was cooked from fresh the lamb was fat less and so tender , Louise our waitress went above and beyond to help us choose , would highly recommend this place and if we are ever in the area again we’d be back in a heartbeat !”

  “Mushroom starter good. Breaded brei starter good.Fish and chips. Ample sufficiency. Excellent batter . Chips firm and fluffy. Both fish portions were a little bland in the middle. Service charming.”

  “Very much a local pub for local people. If youre not local, youre not welcome. We had a very rude lady reluctantly serve us. Refused us food because our dogs barked - in a dog friendly pub! How very dare they! Other dogs barking was OK though, just not ours. Seriously, been here before and the food is OK at best. We wont ever come here again. Avoid!!”

  “Disgusting! Service was horrendous! Wouldn't serve us in a dog friendly pub because our dog dared to bark! Poor people next to us had to take their boots off at the door and walk round in their socks because they had been walking and their boots were muddy! Dogs stopped and she said we were now allowed to order - nope! Ill spend my hard earned money else where thanks. Had she not poured the drinks, we would have walked out! Clearly if your not local your not welcome so avoid!”

  “Just visited for a quick pint and to see what it's like. We walked 30 minutes from our campsite to a nice place and had a nice pint each of there stout which was spot on and a reasonable price at £3.10 a pint. Inside we were welcomed and told dogs were welcome in the bar area and outside in the the beer 🍻 garden which has a large teepee in it. Clean and tidy. Hope to return for some food. Sadly not able to visit again to sample food but if in area would return.”

  “Popped in as we were on holiday close by. And have to say the food was wonderful and I really like my real ale but couldn't choose so was given tasters to help me decide. Great service, food and hospitality well worth a visit.”
