Customer Review Summary
The Sunday carvery draws the most consistent praise, with reviewers repeatedly describing generous meat selections, fresh vegetables, and extras like additional gravy boats brought out on request. Close behind, the fish and chips comes up again and again, often paired with onion rings and a cheesy garlic sauce that several diners single out as a highlight. Portions are frequently called generous and the food homemade, with mentions of dishes like cauliflower cheese, leek and potato soup, and a chicken, garlic and mushroom melt. Staff and the family who run the pub, including the landlady, are described warmly across visits, and dogs and children are noted as welcome with a play area mentioned more than once. One reviewer found the carvery merely satisfactory for the price and noted service could lag at peak times, and another mentioned the pub's own pale ale tasted slightly sour on one visit. Several diners mention returning multiple times, with one family coming back the very next day after a first visit.

“Absolutely amazing food. All made fresh with fresh produce. Family run pub with a original pub vibe. I'm not from the area but will be driving back again and again. Wish I lived closer as this would be my local boozer in a heart beat. Haven't seen a pub like this in a very long time.”
