  “The meal you see below was a Famous Bull & Lobster sharer...on the menu a whole lobster and a 1.1kg Tomahawk steak. The steak must have had a very heavy bone as there wasn't that much meat on it and the Whole Lobster was more like a lobster shell packed with oddments of flesh. We have eaten lobster many times and this meal @ £120 was well overpriced . Even the onion rings weren't even whole rings of onion chips were browned on the outside and very soggy inside...unfair price for what was received...We will stick to Rythre Arms or Miller & Carter as their food represents far better value and quality”

It has a vibrant, relaxed energy that instantly made us feel comfortable bringing the kids, while still feeling like a special, elevated night out for the adults. ​The Food The kitchen delivered on every single front: The Steaks: Cooked to absolute perfection—flawless sear on the outside, incredibly tender, and rich in flavor. The Service: What truly elevated the night from a great meal to an unforgettable experience was the staff. They were warm, attentive, and remarkably patient with the kids, engaging them directly and making them feel like VIP guests. Dishes arrived seamlessly, the timing was paced perfectly, and we never felt rushed. ​When we walked out we were full, thoroughly impressed, and already planning our next visit. We truly can't wait to go back!”

  “Absolutely fantastic experience at The Bull and Lobster! The food was outstanding—fresh, full of flavour, and beautifully presented. Every dish was cooked to perfection, and the portions were generous. The drinks were equally impressive, with a great selection and perfectly prepared. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and attentive, creating a relaxed atmosphere from the moment we arrived. Excellent service, delicious food, and great value for money. I would highly recommend The Bull and Lobster and will definitely be returning!”

  “Myself and my partner made a visit to bawtry on Saturday evening for a very much needed date night and what a lovely evening it was. Staff were very attentive, food was absolutely spot on- compliments to the chef, not one complaint from our table, just that we'd not booked sooner. Lovely atmosphere in both the bar and restaurant, will definitely be returning!”

  “I must start by saying what a warm and welcoming experience it was as we entered the venue. The bar staff were very polite and friendly and instantly made my friend and me very welcome. We took in the ambiance of the bar before been seated at the restaurant by the gentleman who was front of house. We had two courses and it was absolutely fantastic and it was only further complimented by the service. My friend and I feel it was the best Sunday lunch we’ve had in memory and thoroughly recommend it”

  “Absolutely fantastic experience! Laura and Luke provided amazing service from start to finish – they were so friendly, attentive and really made us feel welcome. The cocktails were incredible, definitely some of the best we've had, and the food was absolutely delicious. The portions were really generous, so you definitely get great value for money. A brilliant atmosphere with excellent staff, amazing drinks and delicious food. We'll definitely be back and would highly recommend!”

  “We went as a pair and ate like kings!! I ordered a Rib Eye and my wife went for the lobster. The staff were wonderful! We were received and treated with great care. We’ve had a lot of trouble finding a decent fish restaurant since we moved to Doncaster even though I went for the steak. And there, you surpassed our expectations. We're used to going to great restaurants. And you've made it into our top favorites. Thank you so much !”

  “Food was nice, when it eventually came. But the service was definately not up to standard.after 15 mins after order we were then told, could only order sunday lunch or off steak menu, starters ,waited another 10 mins no one came back, so we went to bar to alter it to sunday lunch.then waited further 40 mins, asked again, asked twice to change the cutlery. The girl at the bar was not in the slighest bit interested and very rude, it wasnt even busy at all, i suggest she has some training in customer service skills. And we also found out after the food had come it would have been better to order in the restaurant, if we were told that in the first place, thats where we would have. sat. We will not be coming back. Also there was a service charge which we were not made aware of, but we queried this, and didnt pay it because, as stated earlier its the worst service we have ever come accross, it used to be fabulous before in this building.”

  “Awful! They seated us in the main area when we were eating knowing they were doing a quiz night so as we were eating we could just hear the quiz right behind us. The food came and we had the bull or lobster pasta and we had the lobster option- with NO lobster in it and the pasta was so undercooked and the seafood tasted off. Didn’t finish our food. After putting the plates down they didn’t ask if we needed anything else (salt pepper etc) and didn’t once check in. Went to the bar to pay and they didn’t ask how anything was. Previously the waitress mentioned the “bull pasta” was precooked beef that was then deep fried when I asked how the steak was cooked…. Hence switching to the seafood option which was uncooked..”

  “2nd attempt at going here. After giving up around Xmas at evening getting a booking we thought we would try again. This time booked online for Mother’s Day, £30 deposit left. We opted for standard booking, I.e. not the Sunday dinner / carvery. When we arrived we were greeted with what was virtually a set menu, 3 course. £45 for a starter, Sunday roast and a dessert. No other options. The previous owners Sunday dinner was no where near this price. So expensive. The staff member recognised this too and didn’t argue at all when we said we wanted our deposit back and would walk. Very poor from what is a new business to the area. Bring back Andy lovejoy the previous owner”
