About House Martin
House Martin is a pub in Doncaster on Wheatley Hall Rd, with a carvery that lists gammon as one of its meats and includes both a vegetarian and a vegan option, the vegan one using a vegan spread on the vegetables. The menu runs to 13 dishes, among them a roast dinner and the Cowboy burger, and breakfast is served as well. Cask ales, draught beers and wines are poured at the bar. A small playground gives children somewhere to play while families eat, and tables can be pushed together for larger groups. Events run through the year, with Halloween and Christmas among them, and the staff tell customers about them.

Customer Review Summary
The carvery is what most reviewers return for, with the gammon singled out and a vegetarian and a vegan option both mentioned, the vegan one with an assurance that vegan spread is used on the vegetables. Diners also name the cowboy burger and a hot, fresh breakfast. Close behind is the staff, described as friendly, welcoming and accommodating, with the front-of-house lady mentioned repeatedly for greeting guests, explaining the options and sharing upcoming events. One party of seven plus a toddler arrived without booking and had tables pushed together, and a family praises the chefs for listening to requirements and the gluten free menu. The outdoor area and little playground also get a mention. The one negative review describes a flat, far from fresh beer and a very dry roast dinner that looked unappetising for the price, with bar staff who offered no welcome or smile. Others describe the carvery as lovely, with plenty of hot meat and vegetables even though it did not look great at first glance.

“Had a vegan carvery which is usually limited for me due to butter being g added to veg, however I was assured that they use vegan spread. Nice meal. The service was lovely from the carvery server, the bar and the customer service lady who was called liz.”
