About The Sun Inn Everton
The Sun Inn Everton is a gastro-pub on Gainsborough Rd in Everton, near Bawtry in Doncaster. The Sunday roast comes with beef, lamb or pork belly, and an "ultimate" option combines beef, chicken and pork belly on one plate. Truffle roast potatoes and cauliflower cheese come alongside. The rest of the menu includes fish and chips and a lamb burger, so the kitchen covers more than the roast. Groups can mark family celebrations here, and the team brings a birthday cake out to the table. Dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often return to the Sunday roast, with one describing a table order of beef, lamb and an "ultimate" plate of beef, chicken and pork belly, plus extra cauliflower cheese and truffle roast potatoes. Fish and chips, scampi, a huge chicken burger and Barnsley chops also draw praise, and several mention generous portions and food arriving piping hot. Desserts such as cherry Bakewell Eton mess and cookie dough brownie get a nod too. Staff are repeatedly called friendly and obliging, and groups celebrating a 21st and a 90th birthday describe food landing together and a cake brought to the table. The recurring complaint is inconsistency. One Sunday diner found the pork belly dinner average, with hard, tasteless roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding, and another felt staff seemed unwelcoming and never smiled despite good food. One reviewer found the steak pie already sold out for the day. Another server suggested a side salad when a diner didn't want the baby gem that came with the chops.

“Popped in for Sunday Roast Dinner. We had 2 beef, 1 lamb and 1 ultimate (beef, chicken and pork belly) with extra cauliflower cheese and truffle and partisan roast potatoes. It was as good as it gets. Great service and absolutely delicious.”

“Came on Sunday for lunch with friends. The service and decor etc were good, but the food was very average. We were disappointed and expected better. I had a Pork Belly Sunday Dinner, roasties were hard and tasteless as was the Yorkshire pudding. The rest was just ok but won't be rushing back.”

“A big thank you to all at The Sun. 13 of us celebrated our Grandson's 21st Birthday with a family meal, the majority of whom had travelled some distance in order to join us for such a memorable occasion. Everyone commented on how much they had enjoyed their food, which came from a very varied menu. The service was excellent, with the friendly and obliging staff going the extra mile to accommodate any specific requests, such as taking pictures and bringing the Birthday cake to the table This was the latest of many important family milestones that we have chosen to celebrate at The Sun,it certainly won't be the last.”

“Been here a couple of times now. It's not local local to me but definitely worth the journey. Food is always piping hot and delicious. Portion sizes are very generous. Sat both inside and outside and everywhere is clean and tidy”
