About Woodfield Farm - Farmhouse Inns
Woodfield Farm - Farmhouse Inns is a pub restaurant on Bullrush Grove in Doncaster, built around a carvery where a chef carves the meats and serves them with vegetables, roast potatoes and Yorkshire puddings. A main menu runs alongside it, with a mixed grill among the options. For dessert there is a giant chocolate eclair, and cakes and desserts can be boxed up to take home. Families get an indoor play section for the children, and a breakfast buffet is also on offer. Guests order at the bar and can be seated at a table straight away without a booking. Coach parking makes the pub workable for large groups. Visitors who drive enter their car registration at reception to avoid a parking charge.

Customer Review Summary
The carvery is what most reviewers return for, with the gammon and the carved meats praised as hot and freshly topped up, and the vegetables and roast potatoes called well cooked, though one found some veg overcooked. Close behind are generous portions and value, including a giant chocolate eclair, a large millionaire shortbread and mixed grills. Chicken wings and the lasagne also get good words, and the staff are described as warm and helpful, with a fresh cup brought after a split teabag. The caveats are about consistency. One diner found the Hunters chicken rock hard and uncuttable, the bean burger poor and the sticky toffee pudding bland. Another reviewer's first visit left them disappointed, with a strange taste to the carvery meats, before a second visit improved it. Several mention logging a car registration to avoid a parking charge. One group got a refund without question for a dirty spoon, and another left laughing over a takeaway cake box with a slice of biscoff cheesecake that was not what they expected.

“Superb meal! The chef (James or Andrei) was cheerful, polite and very generous with the gammon portion I chose in the carvery. The meat was cooked to perfection and it was hot, as were all of the veg and potatoe options. Thoroughly recommended, we will definately come again. The meal was so nice, that i forgot to take a photo before digging in!”

“A Much Better Second Visit After our first visit, which unfortunately left us very disappointed, we were contacted by Stephen, the manager, who kindly invited us back to give the pub another chance and hopefully put things right. We accepted the invitation, and we have to say what a difference the second visit made. This time, we were warmly greeted when we arrived and shown straight to our table. The service was much more attentive, and our drinks arrived promptly after ordering. The children’s meals were also much better than on our first visit. The carvery was a huge improvement too. The meats tasted much better and there was none of the strange taste we experienced previously. The Yorkshire puddings were lovely and soft with just a little crunch around the edges, and all of the vegetables and roast potatoes were cooked perfectly and had plenty of flavour. We were also kindly given some cakes to take home, which went down very well! We really appreciate Stephen taking our previous feedback seriously and inviting us back to experience the pub again. It was refreshing to see that our concerns had been listened to and that genuine effort had been made to improve our experience. We're happy to change our review because, based on this second visit, we would now be happy to return again in the future. Hopefully the level of food and service we experienced this time continues, as this visit was a completely different experience from our first.”

“I came for a breakfats with a friend , we were warmly welcomed and the buffet explained to us , even telling us to put our toast in first as "it was a bit slow" 😂 Food was plentiful and tasted good. I somehow split my teabag in my cup so asked for it to be swilled out but instead I got a fresh clean cup.👍 The two girls Donna and Mandy could not have been more helpful without being intrusive. Thanks for making us welcome treating us well and making us full. Just a note apparently you have to put your reg in to stop you being charged for parking due to their location. Don't get caught out . But the staff made sure we knew👍 5*”
