Customer Review Summary

Generous portions of Polish food draw the most praise, with reviewers calling them large, massive and tasty, and several say they left full. The pork neck with mushroom sauce is singled out as tender and rich, and the breaded cutlet as crispy outside and juicy inside. Pierogi, traditional soups, zrazy and pork schnitzel also appear, and the welcoming, friendly staff, quick service and good value come up repeatedly. One reviewer found the meat dumplings not to their taste, and another called the cranberry juice a syrup. The sharpest complaint comes from one diner who found the chicken Kiev flavourless and overpeppered, with rubbery cheese, little butter and dry potatoes, a packet vegetable mix where a fresh Polish salad was promised, herring without the onion, starters arriving at different times, and a very cold dining room. That reviewer's meal also went to another table by mistake. Another diner had mixed pierogi and pork schnitzel on the owner's recommendation and found both delicious.

“We travelled from Burton to visit Belvedere and had a really pleasant experience! We were seated straight away, and the young lady working there was absolutely lovely – so friendly and welcoming. The food arrived quickly, and the service was great throughout. The meat dumplings weren’t quite what we expected, but that’s simply down to our personal taste rather than anything wrong with the food. Overall, a lovely visit and a great place to enjoy traditional Polish cuisine! 😊”

“Absolutely delicious from start to finish. Everything we ordered was full of flavour, beautifully cooked, and served in very generous portions. The pork neck with mushroom sauce was especially delicious — tender, rich and packed with flavour. The breaded cutlet was also excellent, crispy on the outside and juicy inside. The portions were very generous, and the prices were surprisingly reasonable for both the quality and quantity of the food. Great food, generous portions, and excellent value for money. I’ll definitely be coming back!”

“We've just had the most delicious authentic Polish food this evening at the Belvedere. The portions were very generous and the staff were so attentive. We felt really welcome! We will definitely be back soon”

“I was very disappointed because, judging by the reviews of this place and the fact that my friends recommended it, I was expecting a wonderful dinner. I started with fries and herring with onion as a starter - the herring arrived without onion, with unnecessary lettuce drizzled in balsamic vinegar, like something straight out of 1990s cuisine. The herring itself seemed to be taken straight from a bucket, with zero creative effort. The tea was tasty but had no colour, and the sugar contained some dirt or impurities. It was served in such a small container that it was almost impossible to scoop it out with a teaspoon without spilling it. The starters were also served at different times instead of together. For the main course, I ordered a chicken Kiev (devolay) with potatoes and salad. The Kiev had no flavour, and the excessive pepper completely overpowered everything else. There was very little butter inside, and the cheese tasted rubbery. The potatoes were dry, as if they had been reheated in a microwave - which isn’t necessarily bad practice, but for nearly £17 they could at least have been reheated in butter in a pan. The “salad” was the biggest joke: I received a mix of cooked (overcooked and heavily peppered) ready-made vegetables from a packet. I was expecting a proper Polish-style fresh salad, as stated on the menu. In the dining room, which was very cold, there was another customer who was mistakenly given my meal. When the waitress left, we started talking and realised he had received my plate. He had ordered a Hungarian-style potato pancake (placek po cygańsku). I most likely won’t return, as I drove for an hour and left disappointed. I have worked in professional kitchens for over 15 years - I don’t have an ego, but I am able to notice many significant mistakes.”

“Very modest place, cranberry juice is not juice, its syrup. The rest was lovely and would come again. When it comes to tea, they bring two cups for price of £3. Here you see zrazy and kotlet schabowy. No other salad otpions only what you see in picture with sour cream I think”
