About Myrtle's Coffee
Myrtle's Coffee is a coffee shop at 168 Albany Rd in Coventry, where sewing machines double as tables. An old press and an old coffee maker stand in as decor alongside them, so the furnishings are objects from another trade put to new use. The menu covers the sweet side with homemade cakes and the savoury side with toasted sandwiches. Anyone who wants something other than coffee can order hot chocolate. A loyalty card earns free drinks for regular customers. Dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary
Coffee is what most reviewers return to, described as great, very good and well made, with a cappuccino singled out as excellent. Close behind are the hot chocolate, called to die for by one reviewer and lovely by another, and the homemade cakes, which several call delicious. Toasted sandwiches also earn praise, including a chicken toasted sandwich, a roasted vegetable sandwich and a bacon panini, and one diner raves about the pork batch. Staff are repeatedly called friendly and helpful, and a few mention the sewing machine tables and the terrace under an awning. Complaints are specific. One reviewer got soggy bread and far too much cranberry in a bacon, cranberry and brie sandwich, then waited a very long time for toasted sandwiches while a single person worked the room. Another found the ladies' toilet and baby room worn, with cracked floor tiles and walls needing paint, and one calls the interior dark and noisy. One couple sharing a roasted vegetable sandwich were given two separate plates, each with salad and crisps.

“Soggy bread for the bacon cranberry and brie. Way too much cranberry, made us feel ill. Toasted sandwiches took over 30 minutes. Got forgot about. Tea and coffee was the only saving grace. Only had one person working with a lady cutting her child's hair at the back of the cafe, and it doesnt deserve the French grave accent on the end of cafe.”
