About Hops d'Amour Micropub
Hops d'Amour Micropub is a family-owned pub in Coventry and the city's first micropub, set in the former Singer's Sewing Centre sewing machine shop on Corporation St, just around the corner from the Belgrade Theatre. The bar pours six cask and four keg ales from breweries not normally found in Coventry. Real ales come on handpump, and the taps change as soon as each barrel is gone. Birthday Cake from Vocation and Core Directive from New Invention are among the beers listed. Ciders run alongside them, from traditional styles to craft sours, and a permanent gluten-free vegan lager sits on the list. Low and no alcohol beers cater to designated drivers and non drinkers. The house approach is to share a table and a chat, with artwork on the walls, no music playing and dogs welcome. Coventry CAMRA named it Pub of the Year in 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers return above all for the beer selection, from real ales on handpump, including a stout, to craft keg beers, craft sours and a range of ciders. A good few come from local breweries, and many are not found elsewhere. Several note that the taps change as soon as each barrel is gone. Close behind are the staff, described as friendly, brilliant and knowledgeable about what they pour, and a sociable crowd of locals. One visitor made a new friend over an Untappd check-in and swapped war stories. Cans and draft takeaways also get a mention, and one reviewer liked that there is no music. Another still found a seat on a busy Saturday night. The building, a former sewing machine shop, draws comment too, with a few covered tables outside at the front, a dog friendly welcome, and wall artwork that one reviewer says has to be seen to be believed.

“Coventry’s first micropub located in what formerly was a Sewing Machine shop. This venue is a beer drinkers paradise with a cracking selection of beers you don’t usually find elsewhere too often. The artwork on the walls has to be seen to be believed. A brilliant find 💯👍🏻”

“The greatest pub in Coventry. The taps change as soon as each barrel is gone. Brilliant staff, incredible selection of beers, great knowledge. It’s been a joy to come here during my stay in Cov, and I will treasure my time in Hops forever. Can’t recommend it enough. If you like great beer, you’ll be well looked after.”
