Customer Review Summary

Reviewers most often praise quick service and good value at this Wetherspoons, with several saying food and drinks arrived fast through the app and describing the staff as quick and friendly. The Big Smoke burger, with pulled beef brisket, maple cured bacon and onion rings, is called very tasty, and the deal pairing it with a 0.5% Erdinger Weissbier is singled out for value. Close behind is the building, described as unique and full of character, with the playhouse theme carried throughout, characters in the gallery and lovely corners to hide in. Opinions on atmosphere vary: some find it bustling but not noisy, while another calls it busy and a bit loud. The main complaint comes from a New Year's visit, where one group says they waited a long time for a single drink and some shots, then met rude replies from two bar staff when they asked for a refund, which they say was never processed. Another reviewer notes that staff pointed to a nearby table rather than fetching condiments. Others describe stopping in for tea and toast or a bottomless Sunday morning coffee.

“Another good Wetherspoons. Food was good and hot. Nice environment to sit and eat in. Bustling, but not noisy. Way better than a fast food restaurant because of the flexibility of the menu (rice, chips or mash available with almost everything) and the better beverage offerings. Not to mention that it doesn't cost any more, either.”

“Exactly what you expect from Spoons. Fast service. Great select of beer. The venue is a fun one too with all the characters in the gallery.”
  • Amy Gooderham
“A solid Spoons, as always Really nice pub. It’s always a little busy, especially in the evenings and on weekends, but the wait time is never a problem — the staff are quick and on it. Food and drinks were spot on, and it’s affordable like you’d expect from Spoons. Same good value as all the other ones, so no surprises there which is why we keep coming back.”
  • Marianne Micallef
“The food was absolutely delicious and delightful - it was very yummy. The drinks as well were very quick to come out as well as the food, the service was so quick and fast. The atmosphere was amazing, quiet but not too quiet.”
