Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often praise the staff, describing them as friendly and accommodating, particularly for parties. Several hired the function room for an engagement party, a surprise party and a baby shower, and mention fairy lights, fire pits, borrowed plates and cutlery, and their own music. The beer selection comes close behind, with a cream stout singled out, well-kept ales, and beers that change regularly. Food gets praise too, including a Sunday roast and pies, with the beef madras pie called exceptional. The one caveat is the menu, which one reviewer found quite simple, with the landlady saying a full kitchen menu was planned. Another reviewer noted the pub had since changed hands. Diners also describe a quiet beer garden despite the nearby main road, and one reviewer was curious about the bomb on the pub signage, which is explained on a wall inside.

“Really friendly service and Amazing selection of beers. Food menu is currently quite simple but the landlady said they would be opening the kitchen to a full menu as they develop.”

“I organised a surprise party for my sister here. The member of staff that helped me plan and organise the whole thing was very helpful, friendly and accommodating. We brought our own food (buffet style) but used the pubs bar for drinks and borrowed their plates, bowls and cutlery. They also supplied some lovely party balloons for us. All for a very reasonable price. We brought in our own music and equipment but the pub had a set up available for hire if we needed it. Conveniently close to the town center. Warm, welcoming and clean, what more can you ask for.”
