Customer Review Summary
Food draws the most praise, with reviewers singling out fish and chips, mushroom risotto, a full English breakfast and a newer tapas style menu with big, tasty portions. Close behind are the staff, described as friendly and attentive, and the beer garden, called a large suntrap and welcoming to dogs. Drinks get mentions too, including Adnams beer kept well, a tropical mojito a bartender recommended, and a Tuesday pub quiz called great fun and well run. Guests who stayed overnight describe a comfortable room with a desk, fast WiFi and a breakfast that arrived quickly. The recurring complaint is busy weekends. Reviewers describe a long queue at the bar, often with only one server, while most staff handle online orders and the garden. One group found glasses piling up, the drinks app not working and a long wait quoted for food, and saw nobody eating outside. One regular now sticks to weekdays.

“Saturday evening, approx 4.30pm, the garden was full but we managed to get a table for 4 of us. Glasses were piling up everywhere and App for drinks wasn't working, which I understand was due to the lack of glasses at the bar inside. Had to queue up each time we wanted drinks which took longer every time. Decided to order some food. App wasn't working for that either and we were told at the bar that food was a one hour wait. Decided not to bother but sat outside drinking for another hour, near the door, and didn't see any food come outside. Looked around and absolutely noone was eating. Been here several times and the pub is fine if it's not too busy but clearly more staff and a chef are needed at weekends in the Summer. Won't be rushing back.”
