Quick info
About Victoria Inn
Victoria Inn is a pub in Colchester at 10 N Station Rd, where the taps carry independent craft and cask beers on a changing range. About eight ciders are served, and the bar also stocks Belgian beers, whiskies and wines. The pub does not cook food or run a pub lunch, but it keeps bar snacks, and customers can bring in pizza or fish and chips from across the road to eat inside. Live music plays weekly, and the pub also hosts ale and cider events for drinkers who want more than a standard pint. Dogs are welcome, so walkers can bring their pets along.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers return mostly for the rotating selection of craft and cask beers, with independent brews on the taps and a range of Belgian beers also mentioned. Cider earns its own praise, with one reviewer describing about eight on offer and a 7.4% pour that was smoother and less sweet than Bulmers. Staff come across as friendly and chatty, and the beer garden, partly covered for rain, gets repeated mentions alongside the dog-friendly welcome. Several call it a proper, traditional pub, and one notes the weekly live music. The recurring gap is food: there is no cooked food or pub lunch, only bar snacks, which disappointed one visitor hoping for a lunch. One reviewer also felt rushed at the bar, and another found it a little pricey. One suggests getting pizza or fish and chips from across the road and eating it in the pub, as long as the rubbish goes in the outside bin afterward.

“We met here for a team drink and catch up between terms. The barman was absolutely brilliant, and the pub is very dog friendly. The only bad part was the Staffie type dog I encountered in the beer garden. It wasn't under control, but I expect the owners were under the influence.”
