Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often turn to the pub for wakes and group occasions. Several describe a celebration of life and two lunchtime wakes handled with a finger buffet, hot food and a function room with easy access to the bar, and one football team of 40 was fed at very short notice after a Sunday match. The roast dinner comes close behind, with one reviewer describing a four meat Sunday roast piled high with sharing veg and calling it very good value. Others mention a breakfast, a hot birthday meal and a friendly young man on the bar. The food is not universally liked. One reviewer found the roast beef tasted microwaved or boiled in the bag, and another found the restaurant not serving food at 5pm on a Sunday. A two star review described a locals only feel, with regulars vaping at the bar near the pool table, and another reviewer complained of the loudly squeaking toilet door. Drinks were called nicely priced, and the rear beer garden is described as more family friendly.

“'Spit n sawdust' pub. Seems to be a locals only kinda place, all the 'regulars' vaping at the bar, but told to go outside for cigarettes, seems some rules apply mire than others. Service was good barman was friendly. We sat outside to escape the locals that took up one end if bar near the pool table. Didn't go in the restraunt as they weren't serving food. (At 5pm on a Sunday!) It was very cheap though thats the only saving grace, so long as you can put up with the locals, the drinks were very nicely priced.”

“Highly recommended pub that above and beyond to accommodate our needs at a difficult time, We needed a reasonable sized venue close to town, with good parking to hold a celebration of life for our mum we lost recently. We approached here as we always enjoy the food and drinks whenever we visit. Although they don’t have a designated area specifically for hiring they were more than accommodating for us to use a large section of their pub mid week for about 40-50 people. They laid out a large variety of fresh food on the finger buffet and hot food which was amazing and went down well. Under the circumstances we didn’t take any photos. But I can assure you that the variety of foods was plentiful, well presented and fresh. The staff were all lovely and accommodating, we couldn’t have asked for or had a better service.”

“Berechurch Arms hosted a wake for us at lunchtime. Food really good. Staff friendly and accommodating. Great function room with easy access to the rest of pub and bar. Plenty of parking. Better than expecting. Recommend for a wake or other function. Thanks to all the team.”

“Staff were nice and helpful but unfortunately the food was very poor. The beef in the roast had definitely been microwaved or boiled in the bag. The door for the toilet desperately needs an oil! The sound was unbearable 😫”
