Quick info
About Hollywood Bowl Colchester
Hollywood Bowl Colchester is a bowling alley in the Unit L4 unit of the Colchester Retail Park, combining ten-pin bowling with a bar, a diner and a miniature golf course on the same site. The format is walk-in, so guests can turn up and play without a booking, and parking on site is free. Alongside the lanes and the course, the venue runs a diner and a bar for food and drinks between games. The interior is lit with neon and stays dim across the bowling area, with music playing over the speakers and the noise of the lanes adding to the atmosphere. Games run late into the evening, making it a straightforward option for after-work or weekend groups looking to bowl, eat and play under one roof.

“We did the golf and bowl for £10 each which was great value for money. We had lots of fun and staff were helpful.”

“The place is grate however there has been some changes that are making my kids want to go others places such as the 10p machine in the picture. When the money drops off the front it doesn’t come out the bottom you get one 10p for every 10 that drops, I asked the staff and they sold me it it waited. The second thing is that the 2p machines do not give tickets anymore there is no sign to tell you as the machine still goes through the motions as if it was to give you tickets but they have removed the tickets from the machines. Don’t get me the place is really good but do they have to be stingy with the tickets or the 10p machine because let’s face it we all know that when the money drops we put it back in.”

“I found this place overwhelming. Dark with neon lighting and bright windows. The environment was very noisy. Too much contrast with loud music playing through speakers and nouse of the bowls was too much. It is a great place for taking kids for the experience but not for me.”
