Pulled beef is the most repeated draw, appearing in a pulled beef sub with gravy and as a yorkie with pulled beef on a sharing platter alongside Korean chicken, mac n cheese and salt n chilli chips. Close behind are the Sunday roasts, with lamb and roast beef described as delicious, and a Chicken Parmesan and Shepherds Pie that one couple returned for a second time. Reviewers also mention an Expresso Martini and drinks called delicious and refreshing. Staff are repeatedly called friendly, lovely or polite, and several praise the atmosphere, decor and mix of folk. The main caveat comes from a long-time regular who finds it not the same as it used to be, with less buzz, slowish service and a missing bone marrow gravy on the Sunday dinner. “Great food ..A very different menu that we both enjoyed to the point we couldn't decide so we ordered all that we fancied and had to waddle round Carlisle for the next 2 hours to walk it all off 😂... Very friendly staff , well mannered all of them ,the service was quick ,the food was cooked to perfection ( I'm very critical on that point btw and could not fault it 😊) it's a very quirky place with an interesting past history which all adds to the experience, A1 plus to the Coco mill from me 😁”
