Customer Review Summary
Diners most often point to the beef brisket taco, called really tasty, with one reviewer saying they would always recommend the brisket. Close behind are the chicken shawarma flatbread, the lamb kofta flatbread and the Birria tacos, plus tapas of duck pancakes, prawns and chicken skewers. Drinks earn praise too, including pink lemonade, bubble tea and smoothies, and a biscoff profiterole with banana is singled out for dessert. Several mention that the venue is dog friendly and the decor unique. Complaints are scattered but specific. One reviewer found the matcha latte undrinkable and the hot chocolate full of bits of powder. Another waited a long time on a busy Saturday for two coffees and two slices of cake ordered online. One felt shortchanged when two tiny pieces of flatbread were charged separately, after the menu said only "flatbread". One quick bite was pretty dry, and a milkshake was thin and milky. Food arriving slow and cold at the lunch rush was fixed by staff who were so nice about it.

“Lovely food, attentive staff, nice atmosphere, although we had early dinner so restaurant empty. My only complaint is being charged 2.99 for two tiny pieces of flatbread. Staff said yes you get half a flatbread. It just said flatbread on the menu. So restaurant taking the hickey, puts me off going again”

“Great atmosphere in this place. We stopped by for a coffee and a quick bite. I can't speak for most of the rest of the food but the botty I had was pretty dry.”

“Right in the centre of Carlisle, Bordo Lounge is a nice friendly relaxing Cafe/Bar. It has a good selection of food and drinks on the menu and it is reasonably priced. Nice for a couple of drinks and a bite to eat while out shopping or to start off a night out. It's a good location for tourists visiting The Cathedral, Tullie House Museum and the Castle. It welcomes our four legged friends too.”

“We visited Bordo Lounge four times during our stay in Carlisle and ended up returning again and again because it was so welcoming — especially as a dog-friendly venue. Our party varied from 2 to 6 people across the visits, and every single meal was thoroughly enjoyed. In fact, we failed to get photos of most dishes because they disappeared so quickly! My absolute favourite was the chicken shawarma flatbread — absolutely fabulous. Other dishes enjoyed across the table included the lamb kofta flatbread, grilled halloumi flatbread, Birria tacos, Diablo smashed burger, grilled cheese toastie, Korean king prawns, and the chicken shawarma mezze bowl. Each time everything arrived well presented, hot, and full of flavour. The smoothies deserve a special mention too — both the pink and yellow smoothies were delicious. One member of staff stood out above all others: a more mature lady with the most wonderful personality. She stayed calm and organised even when it was extremely busy, yet still found time for a friendly chat when things quietened down. An absolute star and a real credit to the team. The QR code ordering system also worked really well — easy to use and very convenient. Highly recommended, especially for anyone looking for a relaxed, dog-friendly place with consistently great food and lovely service. (Photos taken on 1st visit - mid pm on a Tues - on visit at 1pm on Sat - venue was heaving)”

“I always enjoy this chain - have been to a few in various places. The interiors are always interesting and the food is always good. We had tapas - duck pancakes, prawns and chicken skewers plus the fried chicken bites with fries and slaw. Was all very good. The bubble tea and pink lemonade also great. Milkshake is very thin and milky if you like that, otherwise okay!”
