About Cedar Tree Farm - Farmhouse Inns
On Ferry Rd in Cardiff, Cedar Tree Farm - Farmhouse Inns is a pub that opens daily and centres on a carvery. A chef carves slices at a meat station while diners queue, and each plate comes with a choice of veg, potatoes, a big Yorkshire pudding and gravy. A Sunday carvery is part of the week. Families can use the play area for children, and the kids eat free offer gives parents a reason to bring younger diners along. Cakes arrive as large slices, with chocolate fudge cake and mars attack cake among them. The pub sits a short distance from Cardiff Bay.

Customer Review Summary
The caveats are specific. One diner in a group found the steak flavourless, the burger and pasta bland, and the curry's naan like rubber, so they advise having the carvery. Another missed lamb on a Sunday and finds the interior dated. After a small order mix-up, one party was treated to huge desserts, and a wedding party describes being allowed to decorate a cordoned-off area the night before.

“Lovely restaurant with great food and even better service. There was a small mix-up with our order, but it didn't affect our meal and we still enjoyed everything. The team went above and beyond by treating us to some absolutely huge and delicious desserts. A special thank you to Vicky for her kindness and excellent customer service. We'll definitely be back!”

“A superb Sunday roast—just missing the national dish! Popped in for the famous Sunday carvery, and the star of the show was definitely the meat station. You can tell they actually do give it the full 14-hour slow cook treatment—the beef was absolute melt-in-the-mouth stuff but still packed a proper savoury punch, and the turkey managed to stay beautifully moist rather than turning into the usual cardboard you get at some places. My only real gripe was the lack of lamb on a Sunday. Considering the prices are a bit beefed up for the weekend, you’d think the national dish of Wales would make an appearance! That said, everything else was spot on. There was a cracking choice of veg, spuds, and proper gravy. On the whole, the quality here easily beats their famous competitor. Unlike the usual tight portioning you get elsewhere, the chef was carefully generous with the slices. He was also incredibly pleasant, professional, and up for a chat, which is always a nice bonus when you're standing in the queue. The only area letting the side down a bit is the decor. While the place is clean and clearly well-looked after, the interior is looking rather dated these days and is crying out for a contemporary makeover to drag it into the modern era! All in all, a very decent Sunday carvery and well worth a visit.”

“Steph and vicky were very friendly and talked to us a lot about our German Shepard Ella we brought along to the pub. Food was lovely and it was a very nice experience. Thank you!”

“Had a fantastic visit to The Cedar Tree Cardiff. We enjoyed the carvery, which was absolutely delicious with plenty of choice, and the cakes were huge and definitely worth saving room for! The service was excellent from start to finish. We were warmly welcomed by Tom and Ethan, who were both friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. Great food, great atmosphere, and outstanding customer service. 10/10 – well worth a visit, and we’ll definitely be back!”
