About Market House
Market House is a restaurant in Cambridge, spread across five floors on Market Hill. The building holds a Wine Cellar, a Food Lab and private dining rooms that can be booked for events and groups. The À La Carte and Asian menus can be mixed within a single meal, and a European menu sits alongside them. The Sunday roast comes with a choice of beef, porchetta or chicken and a large Yorkshire pudding, and children's roasts are offered. On the seafood side, the octopus and squid stew is one of several octopus dishes. The drinks list includes a wine list, espresso martini variants and an Aperol Spritz. Reservations are required, and the restaurant opens Tuesday to Sunday and closes on Mondays. The kitchen sources ingredients and drinks from small regional producers where possible.

Customer Review Summary
Sunday roast is what most reviewers return to, especially the trio of pork, beef and chicken, or the porchetta, served with crispy roast potatoes, a large Yorkshire pudding and gravy. Close behind are the seafood dishes: an octopus and squid stew, duck rillettes with crispy toast, a shrimp and octopus salad, and haddock with a light, crisp batter. Reviewers also praise the espresso martini variants and the wine, and one describes a private dining room booking for a birthday where the staff made the plan happen. Service is repeatedly called friendly and professional, and one parent notes the children's roasts went down well with a one-year-old. The criticisms are specific. One diner found the spicy Korean chicken too hot to eat and the European dishes small and bland, while also finding the room too loud. Another found the roast a bit too salted, and a third disliked warm pork with cold cucumber and cold, dry noodles. One reviewer calls the toilets small and narrow. Another says the fish and chips needed no added salt.

“Had a lovely meal at @Market House in town on Sunday. ♥️ Sunday roast with porchetta for my partner: the meat was beautifully prepared and cooked. Super tasty and the skin was crispy. The veggie were also very good and fresh. I had the shrimp and octopus salad, the perfect dish for a sunny day. Refreshing, crunchy, delicate but delicious!!! The service was friendly and professional and the Aperol Spritz was just what I needed!!! Well done all! Let’s support the independent business!!! I’ll be back soon to try the à la carte menu and the amazing wines on the list!”

“We enjoyed a great birthday party and Sunday roast at the Market House last Sunday. The greeting was great and very hospitable and we then shown to a wonderful table overlooking Market Square. Fantastic air-conditioning right behind us and a lovely bottle of wine. Whilst we waited for the rest of the table to arrive, we enjoyed foccacia and super green olives. We then all went for their Sunday roast, I had a mix of roast beef, Porchetta and chicken with a fantastic large Yorkshire pudding, lovely gravy and expertly cooked vegetables. Fully recommend this establishment and we are all looking forward to going back again. Good work, Market House!”

“I booked the private dining room for my friend's 30th birthday. I was very pleased by their responsiveness and help in making my vision for the evening a reality. Outstanding wines, and great service too. Can highly reccomend for events and groups.”

“We visited for lunch today and had a great time. The octopus and squid stew was a pleasant surprise—slightly spicy, full of flavour, and beautifully finished. The duck rillettes were excellent as well, served with perfectly crispy toast. We both ordered the haddock for our main course. The fish was wonderfully tender and flaky, with a light, crisp batter that wasn’t heavy or greasy at all. The manager was very friendly and attentive, which made the meal even more enjoyable. We had a lovely time and will definitely be returning.”
