  “Great food. Nice Biryani with tender lamb meat. Amazing crispy prawns. This would have been a 5 star, only if the servers would have remembered to change the plates for the main course. They just kept us on the starter plates. Which I thought was not good at all. I assumed the folks would notice and do the needful, but alas no one really cared. But the service charge was happily applied on the bill. PS: They also forgot to remove an item from the final bill which we had cancelled, so we had to get it corrected. Small issue, but then attention to detail is expected when you are going to shell out near £100 for 2.”

  “Wow, what an amazing restaurant. These guys really know how to give amazing customer service and the food is DEVINE. My friend and I booked here for a belated 40th birthday meal for myself. I got a cute little personalised birthday card and a really sweet birthday pudding. It was honestly such a beautiful atmosphere, such kind energy and the food is delicious. It helps that the waiters and waitresses are passionate about the food that they serve! A big shout out to Shiva, he gave the most amazing customer service and is an absolute star. Thanks so much We will be back”

  “Having been to Dishoom many times, I already knew that the food was going to be top notch - but at the Cambridge Permit Room, the service was even better. We were looked after by Seva who took excellent care of our group of three, one of whom had a birthday. He explained the menu, made great recommendations, and was just a delight throughout. Exceeded our experience and expectations, so thank you Seva! Book if you can but totally worth queuing if not.”

  “Incredible. Shiva was our server and he was also the main reason I loved this place. While the food was outstanding, he explained the dishes and also recommended things. Very vegetarian friendly, and made us feel welcome. We had the Black Daal, the Matta Paneer, and the Garlic Naan as well as the Spinach Chaat. All amazing. Give Shiva a raise and a promotion and I would recommend asking for him to be your server.”

  “Kali looked after us so perfectly. She recommended dishes and was so kind and attentive. We have had the most amazing meal here. I can’t recommend the prawn curry highly enough. We will definitely be back when visiting Cambridge again. What a sensational meal thank you so much”

  “Really great food with lots of options to choose from on the menu. I would definitely recommend the chicken ruby curry and the lamb biryani, both were really tasty. The drinks are also really nice, especially the authentic mango lassi, which was a highlight for me. The restaurant is decorated really nicely, with lots of authentic Indian details such as vintage signs and old Indian decorations. It gives the place a really nice atmosphere. The staff were also super friendly and attentive. They were happy to talk us through what they recommended and explain which dishes were spicy and which weren’t, which was really helpful when choosing what to order. The toilets were nice and clean too, with some funky decor that matched the style of the restaurant. Booking a table online was also really easy. The only slight negative was that it can be quite loud inside, so it can sometimes be hard to hear, but this didn’t really alter my experience. Overall, a really great restaurant with tasty food, nice drinks, friendly staff and a really well decorated interior.”

  “Amazing! Not a single issue at all. Atmosphere was vibrant and fun. Service was amazing - shout out to Shiva. Food was perfect. Flavours were amazing, meat cooked perfectly - fall apart. No complaints at all and Kingfisher on tap! Couldn’t have asked for a better evening.”

  “It’s rare to find a restaurant that accepts dogs. It’s rarer to find one that serves the best food, in a unique atmosphere with superb service. Dishoom Permit Room is a Diamond 💎 pure and simple. We were lucky to have been waited on by Lauryn today and the GM Shannon. I cannot speak highly enough of the staff at your restaurant they couldn’t have done anything more for us. They were incredible! Even with a jam packed restaurant we were very well looked after and never felt like we were waiting for anything. The food was amazing, the quality of the ingredients and the flavours were memorable. We’ve found our new favourite restaurant in Dishoom Permit Room Cambridge. We were also fortunate to have been seated next to the Mango Lassi machine which we got to try during our visit. It took every ounce of will power not to affix my mouth directly to that machine. I don’t know what goes into it but it tastes heavenly. Thank you for having us, see you soon! James, Andreea, Peggy & Polly”

  “This was my first visit @ permit room Cambridge. Server laura was incredible & very friendly. Host wasi , Bartender Zaya & all the managers on the floor was amazing. Finally food was too good specially garlic pepper prawns & Lamb tawa kebab. Cheers to the tremendous kitchen team. Now I can understand why dishoom Cambridge is so popular!!! Thank you for giving us tremendously good experience & definitely coming again. Love you guys ❤️❤️❤️”
