Customer Review Summary
Dumplings draw the most praise, led by a Sui Mai described as juicy with a thin wrapper, plus fried pork filling dumplings called aromatic and chicken dumplings paired with fried squid. Close behind are the beef dishes, including Schezwan beef with egg fried rice and beef in black bean sauce, described as tender with rich sauces. Also singled out are a phenomenal claypot rice and a hot and sour soup called very good. Portions are generous to some, though one reviewer found them just okay. The baked pork chop rice is the clearest letdown. One reviewer found the tomato sauce heavy on paste with slightly raw onion and pineapple, and another called it almost neon-red. The Ying Yang milk tea coffee was very strong and oversized, and one diner found two noodle dishes extremely salty. One reviewer reports finding a chewed chicken claw bone in ribs in black bean sauce. Service is mostly described as quick and friendly, though one reviewer criticises employee behaviour. One diner with a pea allergy says staff listened and checked the ingredients before serving.

“We visited on a lovely warm day and decided to stop in for lunch, and we’re so glad we did. To drink, I ordered a refreshing Boba tea, which was the perfect choice for the weather. For my meal, I chose the Schezwan beef with egg fried rice, while my husband had the beef and pepper in black bean sauce with plain rice. Both dishes arrived beautifully presented, piping hot, and were full of flavour. The beef was tender, the sauces were rich without being overpowering, and the portions were generous, making for a thoroughly enjoyable meal. One thing that really stood out was how seriously the staff took my pea allergy. They listened carefully, checked the ingredients, and gave me confidence that my meal would be prepared safely. That level of care and attention makes a huge difference and allowed me to relax and enjoy the experience. Combined with the delicious food, attractive presentation, and attentive service, this was a fantastic visit. We’ll certainly be returning and would happily recommend it to anyone looking for flavourful Chinese cuisine and excellent customer care.”

“Expectation vs reality. I ordered the baked pork chop rice, but it turns out extremely bright, almost neon-red tomato sauce. The brightest food I had so far”

“I ordered ribs in black bean sauce, but I just found a chicken claw bone hidden inside my food. Worse still, it clearly looks like it has already been chewed and eaten by someone else.”

“came from London for tourism and chose this resto for lunch for 2 baked pork chop rice is always a Hong Kong classic and difficult to find a real recreation of the dish elsewhere. the dish from here is not bad but well seasoned pork chop and egg fried rice but a tomato cheesy sauce. however the sauce has too much tomato paste in my opinion and the tomato itself is bland and onion/pineapple is slightly too raw. the HK French toast with peanut butter is done well but sadly no condensed milk. The Milk tea coffee mix (Ying yang) was very strong and very big portion again needed condensed milk and doesnt need to be that big. service was faultless and fast and has toliets downstairs which was clean. as it stand the food we picked is okay but not exceptional nor recommended but we did order the difficult to make well options in the menu. All in all 4 stars it is from Google map standard. thanks for the service and food. Can try if you are around and want HK style food with your expectation managed.”

“Food was tasty, and service was quick and slick. Portions were just okay considering the prices. If you want good Chinese food in the city centre, this is a good place to go. I got a 10% discount, which basically removed the service charge, but I didn’t catch the cashier on whether this was a student discount or a cash discount.”
