About Margaret's Cambridge
On Chesterton Rd in Cambridge, Margaret's Cambridge is a modern British bistro and the younger sibling to Michelin-starred Restaurant 22, which sits a short way along the same street. The kitchen works from locally sourced ingredients and offers a produce-led menu of shared plates alongside a set menu. On the set menu the starters are fixed, and guests then choose their own main and dessert. Focaccia comes with dips. The bar serves cocktails and wine by the glass, including an old fashioned and a Chablis. A window table looks out to the street. Reservations are required. For birthday and Valentine's celebrations, the team hands over a handwritten card.

Customer Review Summary
Diners most often single out the focaccia with its dips, which one calls unreal, as the opening to a set menu where guests still choose their own main and dessert. Starters such as the mushroom soup and pumpkin fritter earn repeated praise, and close behind come mains like the monkfish, cooked to perfection with the right sauce, and the pork rib eye. Desserts named include the ginger sponge, madeleines and a cheese course, though one reviewer did not care for the chocolate tart. Staff are described as friendly and accommodating, adjusting seating and timing for a couple who were rushed. Drinks draw the clearest complaints: an old fashioned lacking flavour, with no maple or orange on the palate, a non alcoholic G&T and an aperol spritz that fell flat, and a wine that was not what one guest expected. A few add that service is not quick, the spacing is a little cramped, and the bill climbs with drinks. Birthday and Valentine's diners both mention being given a card.

“Had a wonderful time with my husband. Service was perfect and food was delicious. They went to accommodate last minute changes to our seating and also were very accommodating when we told them we were rushed and needed to be away at a certain time. Really wonderful group of people who clearly love their job and passionate about food.”

“By chance I came across this restaurant that is near my hotel. I saw it opens at 5:30pm - excellent! Upon arrival, we were ushered to a close up table but we prefer to sit at the window. It was a pleasant table that looks out to the street. They only have tasting menu of 65 pounds per pax. You need to choose your main and dessert course. The starters are very good. Focaccia bread is soooo good + the dips they provided. You can see a lot of effort is put into each dish. Only the dessert chocolate tart is not to my liking. Wine by the glass Chablis and Sauv blanc are good. Restroom clean and spacious. Overall is a fantastic find! Love to be back if I'm back in Cambridge.”

“I had an incredible dinner here with my wife. Food was superb and the staff were extremely friendly and pleasant. The spacing was a tiny bit crampt. The price also racked up quickly with a couple few drinks. I will undoubtedly be returning again.”

“Such a great place for nice food. It’s not overly expensive, reasonable prices for simple yet delicious meals. The focaccia bread was unreal, I had the monkfish and it was also cooked to perfection and paired with the right sauce. Starters were good too. Service was good, not really quick but it is part of the experience. The non alcoholic G&T and the apperol spritz were not really great so maybe try another drinks! Dessert was also very yummy and had different textures. Overall a very good experience that I would happily repeat!”
