About Kobe Steakhouse Cambridge

Kobe Steakhouse Cambridge is a steakhouse and cocktail lounge at 24-26 Bridge St in Cambridge. The restaurant is registered with the Kobe Beef Association in Japan, one of the few outside London to hold that registration, so Kobe beef sits on the menu alongside wagyu and England Wagyu cuts. The Kobe Sampler is the top-end steak option, and other cuts are also offered for those who want something different. The team explains the steak grading and the marbling scoring system, which helps guests choose between the cuts. Wagyu bone marrow works as a starter, and the kitchen also cooks seafood, including miso cod with black rice, plus a vegetarian selection. Cocktails and wines come from the lounge bar. The kitchen is halal.

Customer Review Summary

Birthday celebrations are the main draw, with diners describing a sung "Happy Birthday," a birthday treat and servers who explained the beef marbling scoring system. The steaks anchor the visits: reviewers praise a 300g England Wagyu with triple cooked fries, wagyu tataki and mac and cheese, the Kobe Sampler, an Argentinian Ribeye cooked perfectly with lovely char, and a Steak Tartare paired with a Gochujang Bloody Mary. Close behind is the wagyu bone marrow, which one reviewer recommends, along with the dessert and a good choice of cocktails and wines. Staff are repeatedly called friendly, welcoming and helpful. The recurring caveat is cost: several call it pricey or not the cheapest steakhouse in Cambridge, though most still judge the steaks worth it. One reviewer found the lobster pasta very rich and heavy with slightly overcooked lobster, while the miso cod with black rice earned praise. One diner also found the room a little dark at lunch. Several say they plan to return.

“So i visited this restaurant on my birthday, just to fuel myself for the day, also being a steak lover, I try most steak houses i see; and i must say, this was a cut above the rest, in Cambridge at least. The Restaurant: decorated nicely and pleasing on the eye, its clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. It is a little dark, but that could also have been where we were sitting. Atmosphere: we visited around mid day, so it was quite quiet at that time , but I do know the place can get quite full in the evenings. the staff were very helpful and made the experience what it was. Overall though, it has a welcoming feel, so family events, birthdays etc no problem. The Food: The food was cooked to perfection, it was empty plates all-round, even for my son who is extremely fussy when it comes to eating out(as he should be lol), it was probably one of the better steaks i've had in a while, and i will definitely be going back. Affordability: it's not the cheapest place to eat, but , its definitely worth the prices being charged, in my opinion. There are definitely more affordable options located in Cambridge in terms of steak houses, but kobe gets a yes from me, like I said, i'll be going back.”

“Visited this restaurant on a Friday afternoon. We parked at the Grand Arcade. Nice decor. Has a good selection of steaks, including wagyu steaks. A bit pricey, but the steaks were excellent. Recommend the wagyu bone marrow. Good selection of cocktails and wines. There is a decent vegetarian selection.”

“Had a lovely 300g England Wagyu steak with triple cooked fries, bread, wagyu tataki, Mac and cheese, etc and it was all DELICIOUS. Had a lovely server called jade who was very welcoming to the place and gave me good insight into the beef marbling scoring system. I was celebrating my 24th birthday and it was a amazing time. Would recommend to anyone CD celebrating their birthday.”
