About The Folio Bar & Kitchen

The Folio Bar & Kitchen sits inside the Fellows hotel on Milton Road in Cambridge, with a dining room that flows through from the hotel bar area. The room is spacious and finished to a high standard, and a pool table anchors the bar side of the layout. The kitchen handles both daytime and evening service, and the afternoon tea arrives on a tiered stand. In the evenings the menu covers well executed classics rather than adventurous ground, and the space works well for families with children alongside hotel guests and walk-ins. The bar stays open for drinks, and the format shifts naturally from afternoon tea through to dinner.

Customer Review Summary

The pool table and friendly, attentive service draw most reviewers, with the staff repeatedly singled out for warmth and professionalism. Close behind, afternoon tea and the wine and dessert draws strong praise, while one reviewer reports a cake falling from a rickety stand, a long wait for the tea, and disruptive noise from children playing nearby. The atmosphere is described as inviting and well managed.

“Had an afternoon tea and it started with one of cakes falling of the rickety stand with the waitress scrapping it back up with a fork. Followed by a long wait for our tea which came quite a while after the food which is a first. The food wasn't bad but not worth the money it cost and to top it all they have a pool table about a metre from the restaurant that has a lovely echo and when the kids start playing, screaming and crying is a real treat. So if you want a nice relaxing afternoon tea then it's not the place for you.”
  • Gertrude Stewart

“From start to finish, everything was amazing. The staff were incredibly attentive, professional, and warm, and the restaurant itself was beautiful. The wine was fantastic, and the dessert was perfect. Honestly, I don’t understand why this place is underrated it absolutely deserves five stars! Huge thanks to Dada for making our experience so special.”
