Customer Review Summary

The complaints are specific. One reviewer found the sirloin tough and dry when ordered medium. Another says the roast was good but not outstanding and pricey for what it was, with the Yorkshire pudding "nothing special." A diner reports rock-solid butter that could not be spread and starters served without plates, which left food on the tablecloth. One reviewer suggests arriving early for a good seat, since it gets busy. A returning guest mentions the kitchen making warm raisin scones.

“Absolutely fantastic experience! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We stayed at the hotel from 27–30 August 2026, and our experience was exceptional from start to finish. Breakfast was absolutely lush! We especially loved the Belgian waffles and French toast. The restaurant also offers a wide selection of delicious food, so there is something for everyone. The Friday Jazz Night is definitely a big plus! The atmosphere was fantastic, with lots of lovely people and great vibes. I would recommend coming early to secure a good seat, as it gets busy. All the staff were friendly, courteous and professional. A special mention to Vasi and Sabu, who always go above and beyond and make me feel truly special and welcome. ❤️ Another special mention to Joel, who made me a wonderful and refreshing cocktail called “Smokey Something” — a delicious blend of pineapple with a lovely smoky flavour. It was absolutely gorgeous! Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would definitely come back. Highly recommended! ❤️”

“Absolutely fantastic dining experience. The food was amazing from start to finish, with every dish beautifully to look at and full of flavour. In fact, it was so good that when my meal arrived, I completely forgot to take a photo before diving in! A wonderful restaurant that delivers on every level. This my my first time at Parkers Tavern but I’ll definitely be returning and highly recommend it to anyone who will listen to me keep going on a bout it haha!”

“Good early lunch, nice and quiet. We came as a family and felt very well looked after. Few drinks in the bar first then I chose the steak, perfect. The wife is a vegetarian and she had lots to choose from. Look forward to coming again.”

“We visited Parkers Tavern as a family and had a wonderful experience. The food was delicious and the staff were very attentive, giving our grandson lots of attention which he loved. A special highlight for him was the melon boat from the kids menu, we were all in awe when it came out and it really was exciting him. I had the fishcake which was incredible. Emply plates all round.”

“Post script: we retuned for the Sunday roast in May 2026 and it was excellent! Second time here and an even better experience. The kitchen whipped up some raisin scones for us and they were warm & sumptuous. Cosy ambiance and a lovely place to relax away from the crowds after a long day trekking through the town”
