A large cooked breakfast with eggs, sausages, hash brown and mushrooms is described as a very generous portion that kept one diner full all day. “We thought we would try Bread & Butter cafe for the first time, and we were dissapointed. Firstly the positives: The cafe was fairly clean and tidy, and the seats were nice and very comfortable, and my wife's chocolate cake was delicious and well baked 👍 Now the negatives: The service wasn't great. We stood in front of the counter for quite a few minutes before even being acknowledged. We appreciate the Bariata lady may have been busy, but a simple 'I'll be with you soon' shouldn't have been that hard. I ordered the strawberry milkshake. I was told they made it with milkshake so I was looking forward to it 😃. When it came I was dissapointed the cup was a bit small. But it was the worst milkshake I have ever tasted! It literally felt like they had mixed a teaspoon of milkshake powder into a cup of milk. I found this very dissapointing and unacceptable, and I couldn't finish it... Then my raspberry muffin. Apart from at the top, it didn't have any raspberries in it! (see picture). Also, it was dry beyond belief which for the price we pay was absurd. My wife said it looked like they had brought it from a supermarket 🤔. We may come here again but not for milkshake! 😮”

“The service here and the atmosphere are both good and I always come here for breakfast when I visit my dentist just around the corner. I recommend this establishment if you happen to be in the Jesus Green - Midsummer common area of Cambridge. Really chilled 👍🏻”

“I stopped here for breakfast and had a pleasant, straightforward experience. There was plenty of seating, and I was able to order straight away. I chose the large breakfast with a cappuccino and orange juice, which came to £17.55. The drinks were enjoyable, and the breakfast was a very generous portion. It came with two eggs, two sausages, a hash brown, plenty of mushrooms and beans, tomato and bread, and it kept me full for the rest of the day. The sausages had a slightly beefy taste to me, which was a little unexpected, but everything was fine overall. It was a simple, traditional café breakfast, served promptly, and I left feeling satisfied. Overall, a decent and filling breakfast with plenty of food.”

“Quaint lil cafe at the corner, the side salad is a pleasant surprise. I love that the iced coffee is not too sweet, just to my liking, nicely paired with the cake. Friendly staff as well.”
