About Bridges
Bridges is a healthy juice bar and cafe at 20 Bridge St in Cambridge, and it has been running for more than 30 years. The kitchen makes homemade brunch and lunch, including Chicken Chorizo Arancini served with a side of salad and a sausage roll that also comes in a vegan version. The display counter holds cakes, pastries and other baked goods, among them a Guinness cake, alongside paninis, savouries and pies. For days out, the team prepares bespoke punting picnics. Orders are taken at the counter where the coffee is made, and the space is small, with a communal bench. Bridges is walk-in, with no booking taken. Dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary
Homemade cakes draw the most praise at Bridges, especially the Guinness cake, described as dark, rich and moist, along with the chocolate cake and a vegan sausage roll. Close behind is the Chicken Chorizo Arancini, noted for flavourful filling and gooey cheese, though one reviewer found the shell soggy and suggests reheating in an oven rather than a microwave. Reviewers also single out the matcha latte, sweet potato pie and fresh smoothies. Many call the owner and staff friendly, with one describing being treated like VIPs. Complaints centre on value and atmosphere. Savoury food is called pricey with small portions on display, the counter is slow with coffee made before the order is taken, and the tiny space feels rushed, so one reviewer suggests takeaway. Two low reviews describe the owner asking a customer to leave despite empty seats, and a no-toilet policy for customers that led one couple to walk out before paying. One reviewer also scorched their tongue on the very hot matcha latte.

“Lovely little cafe with excellent homemade cakes. The opening times are short each day but the staff are lovely and the cafe has a wonderful atmosphere. The savoury food is quite pricey but excellent for a treat. I especially recommend the chocolate cake and the sausage roll!”

“Girl on till pleasant enough. Noticed food was expensive and portions on display very small. Okay, we're on holiday so blow the expense. Ordered lunch for 2 of us but just before I paid my husband queried the no toilet sign, we'd assumed it was to stop non customers using them. No, it applied to customers! We walked out without paying. One to avoid. Pub a few doors down much better.”
