About The Cambridge Blue
The Cambridge Blue is a pub in Cambridge at 85-87 Gwydir St, with a back garden that has a little doorway opening onto a cemetery. Inside, old brewery memorabilia hangs on the walls. The bar pours cask real ales on handpump, with keg beers, bottles and cans alongside, and non-alcoholic beers on tap. Belgian beers, including lambic, sit next to a large whisky selection, and each beer is served in its own branded glass. Food comes from Gorilla and Lamb, with a burger-based menu that also lists pie and mash, ordered by QR code at the table. Dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers consistently center on the beer selection, with real ales on handpump, cask and keg, Belgian bottles and a lambic singled out, plus a large whisky range and non-alcoholic options. Several mention that each beer arrives in its own specific glass. Close behind is the big beer garden, which has a marquee for colder evenings and rain, along with spacious indoor seating and old brewery memorabilia on the walls. The atmosphere is described as great and a place to chill for hours, and staff are called friendly and helpful, with one bartender recommending a drink a reviewer would not have tried. Food gets shorter mentions: a tomahawk cooked to perfection, tasty pie and mash ordered by QR code, and a small menu of good quality. Dogs are welcome, according to one reviewer. The one complaint is inconsistent pricing, with one reviewer paying a lower amount for a drink than a friend paid for the same one, and suggesting asking about prices beforehand. Another reviewer notes a small doorway at the back that opens onto a cemetery.

“Had a really lovely experience at the pub. The bartender Holly was fantastic and provided such friendly, attentive service. She recommended me a drink that I probably never would have thought to try, and it ended up being absolutely lovely! The atmosphere was great too. Overall, a lovely experience and I’ll definitely be coming back!”

“A real mainstay on the Cambridge pub scene. Always a great atmosphere and an excellent beer selection. When the weather is good you can sit outside in the extensive beer garden and if not the indoor area is cosy and spacious. I often come here and will keep coming back for sure. One of the top pubs of Cambridge.”

“I LOVE THIS PUB it is a lovely atmosphere, genuinely can just chill there for hours and also great place to just yap for hours, lots of seating and space. They also have so many options!!! AND THEY HAVE LAMBIC BEER, which is absolutely scrumptious. The pricing does seem inconsistent, I bought a drink for £4.5 and then a friend bought the same for £7.5 which is odd, so maybe just ask before how much stuff is ¯\_(ツ)_/¯”

“Fantastic boozer, heaps of whisk(e)y, Belgian beer, other interesting beers on offer. Good indoor space, we came in summer and made good use of the big beer garden, that has a marquee for colder evenings/ rain. Bench seating out the back, and a little doorway that opens to a cemetery if you fancy an excursion.”

“We went for a family meal; everything was great. The choice of beer was fantastic, the service was great, and the staff are so helpful and friendly. The food was amazing; we ordered the tomahawk, and it was cooked to perfection. All the sauces were very nice. The corn was amazing. I will definitely recommend it.”
