About Devonshire Arms
Devonshire Arms is a pub in Cambridge, on Devonshire Rd, pairing a Caribbean fusion menu with a large range of real ciders and meads. It was named Cambridge Cider Pub of the Year in both 2024 and 2025. The kitchen cooks jerk chicken and goat curry, and the menu also lists a Jamaican chicken burger and a cheeseburger. At the bar, the ciders include unusual ones on tap, alongside Milton Brewery beer, other draught ales, mead, hot drinks and non-alcoholic options. The historic interior has a wood burner, and the pub sits on a back street not far from Cambridge station. Dogs are welcome, and the pub provides fresh water and treats for them.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often come for the Jamaican and Caribbean food, with the jerk chicken and goat curry named repeatedly for their flavour and generous portions, several taking leftovers home. A Jamaican chicken burger with spices that were just right earns praise too, as does a plain cheeseburger a diner's daughter liked, and one reviewer recommends the jerk chicken outright. Close behind is the drinks list: a large range of ciders, including unusual ones on tap, plus draught beers, ales and mead. Bar staff are described as friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable, and a visitor who stopped in for a quick pint found the locals friendly too. Several call the drinks reasonably priced. Also mentioned are a small back garden, an outdoor smoking area, a historic interior, and a table of former colleagues who say it is not too noisy for conversation. One diner recalls a member of the team who ran out and caught up with them to make sure they hadn't left their takeaway food behind.

“The food at this pub not far from Cambridge Station was delicious. So good I really wished I’d ordered some food off their Jamaican menu. The burgers were delicious, my daughter had a cheeseburger which she likes plain. I had a Jamaican chicken burger that was so good, the spices were just right.”

“We had a great evening, staff were really friendly and accommodating from the moment we arrived giving up their seat for us when they were on a break. The Carribbean food was amazing and large portion sizes. Prices of drinks were really good. I will definitely go back soon. Thank you.”

“Absolutely brilliant! The jerk chicken and goat curry were off the charts for flavour easily some of the best we’ve had. Portions were so generous we had to take the rest home as takeaway. What really stood out was the service: one of the team actually ran out and caught up with us to make sure we hadn’t left our food behind. Proper good food and proper thoughtful staff. Great value too, we’ll definitely be back.”

“Great local pub, most notable for its honestly amazing Jamaican food - the jerk chicken and the goat curry are both top-tier. Huge selection of ciders primarily but also decent selection of beers and other drinks, including mead. A cute historic interior and a small back garden. Overall one of my favorite Cambridge pubs, probably the best food you’ll find in a pub here”

“Fabulous back street pub complete opposite to the identikit pubs that are everywhere these days. Welcoming bar staff, great range of drinks including unusual ciders on tap. Food menu heavily leans to Caribbean, freshly prepared and reasonably priced.”
