Customer Review Summary
Staff service is what reviewers raise most, with several singling out servers and bar staff as friendly, efficient, and attentive, and one calling a waitress professional and memorable. Food draws praise too, led by a crayfish sandwich described as fresh and unique, alongside lamb chops, bruschetta, and generous portions. Bar visitors mention the cocktails and a great selection of drinks. Several describe a calm, relaxed daytime atmosphere that is not loud, with roomy seating and a sofa one reviewer stayed on longer than planned. A regular calls it a good place to work on a laptop or wait for a train. Complaints centre on the kitchen. One diner waited far longer than expected for lunch, and another reported fish and chips with very little fish under thick, hard batter that a knife and fork struggled with. One vegan regular describes a server asking the chef to adapt a dish, which made for a delicious lunch.

“We do often frequent the station tavern and always find it to be clean and with a lovely atmosphere. Today we entered the premises and was greeted by a friendly and bright smile from Layla who was efficient, polite and looked liked she cared about her job. Service with a smile and really made the difference. Thank you”

“Station Tavern is conveniently located just outside Cambridge Station, making it an ideal spot for a meal before or after your journey. We arrived hungry for lunch and found the food to be excellent, the atmosphere relaxing, and the staff warm and friendly, but service time unduly long. We ordered the crayfish sandwich, fish and chips, lamb chops, and bruschetta. The portions were generous and satisfying, and everything was delicious. The crayfish sandwich, in particular, stood out with its fresh and unique flavor. The seating is comfortable and inviting, making it a pleasant place to unwind. The only downside was the service time. We waited nearly 50 minutes for our food, which was far longer than expected and took away from an otherwise enjoyable experience. I would have happily given this place 5 stars, but the long wait means I'm giving it 4. With quicker service, it would be an easy recommendation.”

“My favorite pub in Cambridge so far! Super chill, not so loud, friendly staffs. Nothing to complain here! Also pretty wide that you do mot have to be squeezed in to find seat and they have such a great sofa that I stayed way more than I intended! If I have a chance, I would love to try food!”

“This was the first time I visited the Station Tavern but certainly won’t be the last. A really good experience! The waitress, Emanuela, was really outstanding and professional and truly made our visit both memorable and pleasant. I fully encourage a visit.”
