About The Drill Inn
The Drill Inn is a pub at 33 Springlestyche Ln in Burntwood, where goats live in the garden alongside a kids' play area and a bouncy castle, giving families something to do beyond the table. The garden also has a grass area and a beer garden with cabins, and the pub runs a marquee area with a theme. The kitchen cooks the Clunky Cow burger, pie and steak. Gluten-free items are marked on the menu, and the kitchen can modify dishes. Food comes out through table service. A private dining room is available for groups. Dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the food, with the chicken fajitas, the Clunky Cow burger, steak, pie and a homemade gnocchi special with Cajun chicken, bacon and chorizo all named as highlights. Portion sizes get repeated praise, and several describe the staff as friendly and attentive, including a kitchen that handled a forgotten steak sauce quickly and marked its gluten free items clearly. Close behind is the setting, with the decor called very nicely done, and a large garden with a play area, a bouncy castle and goats, plus a marquee with a lovely theme. One reviewer found the two course lunch good value and enjoyed a half of ale. The main criticism comes from a party of ten celebrating a birthday, who said two meals were refunded because they could not be eaten, one meal was missed and then rushed, and the prices did not match what arrived. Another noted that Great British Pub e-gift vouchers were not accepted. Most others describe returning visits, including a Friday dinner where everything arrived piping hot.

“Attended here as party of 8 adults and 2 children to celebrate my 60th birthday In July. Chose this venue from recommendations however do not feel the meal was as good as it could have been . 2 meals had to be refunded as unable to eat. I meal was .missed off then rushed. Do not feel tht the prices reflected what we had.”

“Absolutely brilliant experience from start to finish. The service was spot‑on friendly, attentive, and genuinely made the afternoon feel special. The food was excellent, full of flavour and really well presented. Drinks were flowing, perfectly timed, and the team were great at keeping everything topped up without ever feeling rushed. A fantastic spot for a relaxed, fun lunch with great vibes and even better hospitality. Highly recommend.”

“I’ve been to The Drill Inn twice now, and the food has been outstanding both times. The portion sizes are great, everything tastes amazing, and the prices are very decent for the quality you get. The service is consistently friendly and attentive, too. Beyond the food, the pub itself is beautifully decorated, but the real showstopper is the massive garden. There are plenty of tables, a great grass area, an entertainment zone, a bouncy castle for the kids, and they even have goats! It’s the ultimate spot for families, friends, or just a sunny afternoon drink. Couldn't recommend it more!”
